To a degree. There are benefits to exploring earlier. One thing that is open to you quite early on is the manhole covers. Easy to miss, as the game doesn’t point it out.

A hint:
It’s relevant that some of them can be approached from above.

Made it up to the Witch’s hut now, guessing this is the first dungeon (of 3?) in the game, not sure how easy/feasible it is to farm enemies to get souls for the upgrades though, seem quite hard to come by to the point where I only had enough to buy 1 upgrade before I entered the hut, not far off being able to afford a second one though which is good.

No need to farm souls. The game gives you enough (especially if you're exploring plenty).

You don't need to farm them but also I never maxed out the upgrades so I guess you do if you want to do that

Yeah I got that randomly when I fell off a platform

Just beaten the third boss on the mountain, found a new weapon (just missing 1 now) and got 4 shards to improve my health bar!

The one aspect of this game I’m so-so on so far is the waves on enemies at times, its felt quite common so far and I’ve not even beaten the first boss yet, which I’m guessing is the Witch.

Yeah I found the waves to be a bit more of a pain at first

Beaten the main game now, loved it, brilliant little game that. The last boss (section leading up to it especially) was tough but I got through it :toot:

Question on the post game I’ve unlocked the Belltower and changed the time of day to night. Found the ghosts and lead them to the statues, went through the newly opened door and got the tablet where do I go from there? Is it just a case of going through all the levels and mopping up the collectibles I missed?

Not just collectibles. A few tips, without giving anything away: examine everything; talk to the various characters again; and have the volume up. And the glowing doors indicate there’s more to do in that area.

Starting to get a bit annoyed with this in what I imagine is the run up to the first proper boss, it’s just constant waves of enemies one after another, every time I think I’ve reached the boss and a checkpoint (well I hope I’d get a checkpoint) you just get more enemies thrown at you.

Ahh I did wonder if the glowing doors indicated something was left, cheers, I’ll have another search of the world tonight.

Is it to do with an Owl? I’m sure I heard one in the wooded area or is that nothing to do with it

Yeah, that's it. If you hear that, you know what you need to look for.

Well I finally got to the first boss, basically by running by the enemies rather than defeating them. First boss has killed me a couple of times already :fp:

Edit, first boss done so I’m calling it a night there as I think I’ve found my way inadvertently to the next location, as I’ve just stumbled across a restaurant with a squid who gives hints about secrets so I’m now back at the Witch’s place rather than going on from there. I was looking to head back to the top of the mountain to see where the game recommends I head next but got lost :fp:

Also, speaking of getting lost, is there a map on this game by any chance? Or do you unlock one at some point? It really feels like it needs one with all the doors popping up all over the place, not the easiest thing to keep track of to me anyway!

So far I’m enjoying it but not feeling the need to push for 100% completion, definitely enough to beat the final boss who I’m assuming is The Lord of Doors?

No map, I would have liked one that you could mark off locations of interest but sadly they do not have one

That’s disappointing there’s no map, was hoping you’d be able to at least buy one or something! Would be good for the secrets you get told as well, so like you mentioned Milner you could mark them on it yourself.
