As someone who finished the game a while back I'd also advise you plant as many seeds as possible.

As I said, save them for when you’re most likely to need them, at least until you’ve got plenty to spare.

There’s no point in using a seed in a planter that’s close to a door, especially if it means you then don’t have any left to give you a boost midway through a difficult lengthy section.

Has an update just gone live or has my switch just taken forever to download it?

Loved the Frog King taking the piss out of Daenerys Targaryen with all of his titles that come up on screen before the boss battle :lol:

Now onto the 3rd temple type area, is there long between the 3rd grand soul boss and the final one?

Think I’ll have spent as much time seeing the credits on this as a lot of you have taken to 100% it :lol:

Edit, this is really starting to irritate me a bit now, the almost constant waves of enemies haven’t been fun for a while and the more they throw at me the less inclined I am to keep playing sadly.

Love the art style and music. Combat also feels satisfying.

Did the first boss and just recovered the horn for the forest dude. Then I spent about 10 minutes trying to find the door that the horn opened before giving up for the day.

It's about an 8/10 for me. The slow pace of upgrades is slightly demoralising. It was a bit of a let down to beat a boss and not even earn enough souls for another upgrade or get more health/magic. Also upgrading doesn't make me feel more powerful. Enemies feel like they still take the same amount of hits after two strength upgrades etc.

Minor niggles and I'm liking it. Can't complain getting it for "free" on gamepass, anyway!

Can you get all the health upgrades before the 3rd boss? Seriously considering using a guide and seeing if getting the 2 health upgrades will help me that little bit that my skills won’t make up for :lol:

The 3rd boss is pretty annoying, the hit boxes don’t seem consistent to me? Either that or it can swing its arms fully round and get you anywhere in close vicinity to it.

Is that the boss on the mountain? Dodge every time it rolls and then go in for strikes when it hits off the wall. Watch out when stuff starts falling from the ceiling though :lol:

At that point I had found 1 health upgrade I think

Right, got all the health crystals, found 4 magic ones and got all the weapons. Let’s try the 3rd boss again……

Think I’m on the last stage of the last boss now, ironically I got the closest to beating him on my first attempt :fp:

Honestly while it’s a good game with some really good elements, once I’ve beaten the boss and seen the credits there is no chance I’ll be polishing everything off :lol:

finished on 78.7% and 12 hours, 17 minutes on the clock.

If I had to rate it I’d give it a 7.5 /10 at most. I loved the graphical style they went for, it looked great on the TV and when playing handheld, the soundtrack was fantastic too. I really enjoyed the story as well, some of the characters you meet along the way were really interesting as too. Contrary to my earlier comments I don’t mind the difficulty of the game, in fact like with Metroid Dread, hard bosses are really satisfying when you finally beat them (although I don’t think any bosses in this game are anywhere near as hard as those in Dread). My main gripe with the game was the endless ‘beat X waves of enemies to progress’ element, it got tiring for myself really, really quickly :dread:

I’ve no idea what there is to do in the post game but I’m honestly not interested in much except the answer to one question,

what happens to the grave digger when you go back after the game? Can you kill them? Or do you need to have all the upgrades to kill them? At least I presume you can kill them at some point in the post game?

With it being on Game Pass it’s definitely well worth trying, if I’d played it via Game Pass I doubt I’d have seen the end as I’d not paid for it in a sense.

Just started this, played for an hour and a half and I'm in the witch mansion. It's pretty good so far, although I keep pressing the roll button to fire the bow instead of the fire one, so I might see if I can swap those two around.

My stance on not going back to finish off the extra content still hasn’t changed so definitely wasn’t going to see that pan out in game, I’ve just watched the true ending on YouTube as well, still enjoyed my time with it on the whole though!

Frog is down, and I've now got the hookshot.

Talking to myself here it seems, but I've beaten the last boss now, so I'm going for post game content.

Already got the 4 magic upgrades before the last boss, so not sure if there's a great deal more than items, souls and seeds left to find.

Not sure I’m enjoying this. I feel I’m constantly on the verge of being horribly lost.

Lovely art style and fantastic music though.
