I've never played on-line but tempted to so I can get past some of the bosses. Just out of interest, if someone else comes and joins me against a boss, do I still get all the booty or can the other player nick it?

Yes?

Demon’s Souls World Tendency events to mark US launch anniversary
If you’re not cuddled up to From Software’s latest bout of flagellation for some reason, than consider returning to its progenitor. Demon’s Souls turns two this week, and Atlus is celebrating with a series of special events.

On the second anniversary of its October 2009 release, Demon’s Souls has entered a white World Tendency Event. Revisit locations to find wussier monsters, new pathways, characters, and items only available when you push through to pure white.

On October 17, Atlus will flip-flop the US servers, initiating a black World Tendency, meaning you’re likely to stumble across overpowered enemies, better item drop rates, more souls per kill, and the fearsome Black Phantoms patrolling. Don’t go to the Shrine of Storms! Satsuki will hand you your arse in five pieces.

When Sony chose not to release Demon’s Souls outside of Asia, the import crowd had already built enough interest to convince Atlus to try a small run. The US release was a slow-burn hit, eventually leading to a PAL territory launch through Namco Bandai, which prompted the publisher to pick up the global rights to the spirutual successor, Dark Souls.

Seeing as though I can't afford Dark Souls, I might have to spend my time on Demon's Souls this weekend.

You will get all the booty regardless of who kills what.

Does that mean Demon Souls will be slightly easier over the next two weeks?

What does this mean? Is there an update? Do I need to play on-line? I'm finding world 4-2 quite tough going because somehow it became a dark tendency. Is this all versions that will be white this weekend of just for the US?

Yes?

Cheers for the tips dude, you'll be happy to know I'm playing as a Royal. :)

I only have three slots for magic and can't decide which would be better to take with me, Warding or Demon's prank?

Old hero? I beat him on my first encounter. Thief ring and plenty of fire balls.

Never used Demon's Prank but I think that should work on him. I liked to use warding for everything though. :D

warding, definitely.

Demon's Prank is great against Old Hero. Warding is only worth it against him if you expect to get hit a lot, which you really shouldn't. Make sure you walk as much as possible (when he doesn't know where you are). Took me a while to beat him. Mainly because I was getting frustrated with the bit on the cliffs before :x

After over 2 years with this game, I still haven't even finished it. :fp:

I've got 1-3, 1-4, 3-3, 4-2, 4-3, 5-2 and 5-3 left to go, so I figure I'm just over halfway through. Might try to polish it off before Black Tendency hits on the 17th.

Because of the Sting Rays? I found that with the thief's ring they don't touch you!

I'm sure I had the thief's ring on for that bit and they still wouldn't leave me alone. I had it on for the majority of the game, anyway :shifty:

That was an utter nightmare until I found out that ring kept them off my back. It was bad enough that somehow the world had turned dark. I think without that ring I'd still be swearing at that level now.

Started this last month, but only really got into it this weekend. I'm a Knight (Royals are for pussies) and I've now knocked off 1-1,1-2,2-1 and 3-1. I've gotten to the 2-2 boss but he hands my arse to me.

Yes I know I'm excessively late to the party.

Holy gooseberry fool at the third Tower of Latria boss. Genius moment but I'm pretty sure the only reason I won was because the other guy ran out of healing/magic items

I do love this game though and I'm an idiot for barely touching it in the past. I've finished Stonefang Tunnel, Shrine of Storms, Tower of Latria and the first couple of stages of Boletarian Palace. I've just killed the first boss in Swamp of Defilement (stupidly easy for once) so I have a stage or two there and then whatever is left after that. I also have to do some white tendency/black tendency stuff but I've died a lot so probably arsed that all up. I also accidently did a shield bash while putting my controller down and landed on one of the NPCs in the Nexus tonight :fp: They didn't die so I'm assuming it will be ok.

FFS! After nearly catching up to where I was up to in Demon's Souls (mentioned previously in Currently Playing) I think I need to start over yet again. This NPC called Ostrava seems to either have died or simply disappeared (I think his death might be my fault as I didn't go straight to fighting Phalanx after rescuing him in 1-1, I left and came back so I assume he got mobbed by respawned enemies) I've read online that he is part of a side quest that ultimately leads to one of the game's best weapons. Is it worth starting from scratch or can I just do the quest in New Game Plus?

This is only £13.99 from Amazon now so want to get it. I have two questions:

Are the online servers still running for Europe?
Is it true that the game is so hard that it is unenjoyable.
