You're worse than me now, and that's saying something!

Captain Kinopio wrote:Is Depraved Chasm notorious for being the shittest area in Souls history. Seriously it’s so strawberry floating tedious, every time I go to it I just end up dropping the game like a hot rock because of how wank it is.

Have progressed to the second stage in every other area but a lot of them have become equally dull or just wont let me go any further. Would like to keep going because when it’s fun its great, but the small bits when that’s the case seem increasingly few and far between.

This is exactly why I’ll never pay 60+ for a game.

It's fine apart from those big banana splits, and it's got one of the easiest bosses in the entire series.

There's a bit where you get to a bridge where they block your path forward and backward.

Just finished 3-1, think I picked up a couple of additional trophies for passing those arrows without dying and during the boss battle to only hit the boss. Those bell ringers are so confusing while running around with the pulse headset on.

Enjoying it more again now that I’m using guides more readily.

I don’t understand a lot of the exp scaling though. In one area you can be slugging away against tough enemies for next to know souls. Then in other areas you can get thousands for simply ranging an enemy to death.

The amount of narrow paths with sheer drops on each side in this is just mean.

:dread: personally I think a guide should only be used on second or third playthroughs. The reason being for hidden items and souls. The fun with any Soul’s game should come from the unknown and surprises.

It does differ on location, after clearing the first area I fell off a platform in the Nexus and lost all my souls I collected including the boss battle. I went back to the first area to build them all back up again and it took ages. Than went to another area and just one of the enemies was giving me 800 souls on its own. :fp:

I feel like you need some comprehension of what's going on to be surprised, otherwise it's just random gooseberry fool.

Also the guide makes me enjoy it more which will make me more likely to play it again whereas without I'm liable to give up without completing.

Yurt for example would have been a complete bollocks had I not known about what would happen.

I’ve been playing this over the last week. I’ve completed 1-1 1-2 2-1 3-1 4-1 and 5-1.

The Prison of Hope was a really steep learning curve for me and that level took me the longest to complete. From also have a habit of hiding staircases, which is particularly annoying.

4-1 was absolutely fantastic though and so was 1-1 and 1-2 I really enjoyed the medieval aesthetic of those levels.

The game runs so well on the PS5 with really small loading times and it looks fantastic.

I can’t wait to continue the journey.

The load times often lose their value when you have to run for a minute to get back to where you were.

It's baffling Bluepoint didn't fix this as it's so obviously a brain dead piece of design.

What needs fixed? Having you respawn exactly where you died? Is this your first Souls game?
