They aren't seriously charging £69.99 for this are they?! I can't find anyone selling it any cheaper.

That's Sony's next-gen pricing.

Yeah but this gen's supposed to be £50-£55 and I don't think I've ever paid more than £42 for a game pre-order. Normally shopping around get you a decent price. I'm thinking none of the website know how much they'll be paying for Demon's Souls yet, so are erring on the side of caution. I hope to got the price comes down. I haven't paid that for a game since Street Fighter 2 Turbo import on SNES!

Whilst this does look really nice, I was hoping that PS5 games would be a big leap above PS4 ones. Being better looking than an early PS3 title isn't that impressive!

There we go... thegamecollection.net have it for £64.99, and I had some reward points so pre-ordered at £63.92.

A little better. Hopefully I'll find it cheaper still in the next few weeks.

It's running at 60fps though which none of Sony's main first party games did this gen.

Yeah that's a very good point, it does look gorgeous in motion as well as a result. Playing Souls games on PC and then coming back to them on console just feels weird because of the 60/30fps difference. If PS5 can offer most games at 60 then that will be a great step forward

Graphically I think this looks immense. So smooth running and luxuriously detailed and crisp.

I'm really hoping they come down in price as £70 is absolutely preposterous and I would find it seriously hard to justify more than a handful of games per generation on release at that price. Even £60 is considerably more than anything I've ever paid for a game on release and would still see me only buying one or two games a year that way. It sucks because getting a game on launch and discussing it on here or with friends is one of my favourite things to do. I can't see how that price won't massively impact game sales too.

At present I don't have any games coming on release which is ok as Age of Calamity is out the next day. I really hope there's some movement on this though otherwise I'll be priced out of the hobby or just switch to MS and gamepass as an affordable alternative.

Then you have more money than me, or are more fast and loose with it.

I agree the prices are too high, but I think/hope they will come down fairly rapidly. Manufacturers have people over a barrel in the early days of a console's life cycle, with few titles on offer, that will change. Fingers crossed.
