So I'm at the point where I'm ready to tackle the final boss, I've been hoovering up some colourless demon souls to not miss out on them. I'm happy with my build though I realise my weapon may not fare as well in New game plus due to lack of scaling at all...

Does anyone have any hints or suggestions on things to not miss out on before I go ahead and complete ?

Get the two swords that merge into one, grind a few levels at the storms boss as new game plus is harder, stock up on loads of healing as they carry over, world tendancy and character tendancy also carries over so worth going light before you move to second playthough, get as much upgraded as you can as you'll need to beat the flame luker again before the blacksmith does he good upgrades.

I used this to check I had all I needed before moving the game on to NG+ (specifically the ring guide).

https://www.powerpyx.com/demons-souls-p ... e-roadmap/

I'd missed the moseleum key the first time around, and was at pure white character but had triggered the end game so couldn't claim the ally's ring. Started NG+ and did the entire first area, plus getting that key then demonbrandt, killing old king Doran AND beating Phalanx, all without dying. Was pretty cool really. I only need the for ring now, which I'll get near the end of my NG+ run (as I need to get some duplicates of the boss souls anyway from later in the game). I also need to do the invasions and co-op bits too.

In my defence, I had a really rough day during maths class and so wasn't in the best frame of mind for getting pummelled.

He's pretty straightforward once you get his pattern down. Equip the thief's ring, move in and roll back, he'll do one big attack which will just miss you, then you have time to hit him once (if you do a second he'll parry and kill you in one go). Keep going until he's low on health, at which point he'll try to heal, so interrupt that and repeat. It takes a while but you can do it (has to melee becuase he just blocks magic and arrows).

You can get him in a position where his swings get caught on the wall which leaves him open to attack.

I got him down to <50% just by winging it. And then he healed. I mean, fair enough, you know, so do I so I'm not mad, but when the odd enemy out of all others does it, it always rankles with me. Anyway! I backed off because I wasn't sure if another offence spell was coming in and then I strawberry floated up and never got close to 50%. Will try again later.

I've played the original and I knew what was waiting for me in that fetid pool, in the final section, but jfc seeing it still made me want to vom. I don't know why, but all I could think was "Imagine what that smells like..." :slol:

Aye. I exploited that when I got him below 50%, but then I got greedy and used spells which knocked two massive chunks of health off him and that's when he strawberry floating ran off further down the path and so I lost that advantage.

All enemies have the potential to heal themselves, but the lesser ones tend to only do it when they're almost dead, so you don't see it much. Black phantoms are bastards for doing it.

On to the final boss. Would hate to cheap him but I think that's what I'll end up doing otherwise he's swipe all my soul levels off me :x (Opted for the backstab cheap on the Old King or whatever his name was.)

My last boss was some shitty slug monster that did literally nothing. I assume I got a "bad" ending or something?

Nah, that's him. He's more a thematic final boss, and people refer to the fight in the throne room as the "real" final boss.

Ah I see. Yeah, that throne room boss was the only point where I really got stuck!

Might go for my NG+ once I've finished Days Gone.

The thought of making multiple treks over to him is keeping me from starting the game up D:
