I just tried to reply to St Dick and it sent a PM. FFS

Anyway, FAO: St Dick:
1st year is best, m8. Maximum opportunity to piss about, and enjoy the overall uni experience. I'm hoping for more of the same in 2nd tbh.

Good luck with your course.

I feel down a lot of a time, this year has been pretty bad though what with messing up uni and realising I have no friends. It comes and goes mind, a couple of months ago the doc put me on citalopram but all that seemed to do was make me sleepy so I stopped, I'd rather be feeling down than struggling to stay awake.

Thanks Proto. :)

But yeah, on topic, I know a couple of people who have had depression, and went onto meds. I think they pretty much regret it now saying that the meds strawberry float you up a bit more. Can anyone back that up?

I've been feeling depressed for long time, there's really nothing positive in my or about my life.

I've suffered from severe depression for a few years and are now on anti-depressents. Some days I want to kill myself, other days I want to kill my friends, other days I can't get out of bed.

The meds really do help, although miss a week of them and you'll never find the energy to get them from the doctors.

Killing your friends is not really depression, its insanity, I always dream of aquiring an AK47 and entering the Bullring in Brum and unloading a few hundred rounds on christmas eve.... One can dream.

You've been lucky enough to interact with me, even if it is only over an internet forum. That alone should add at least a few more years onto the worthwhile-ness of anyone's life!

A close friend of mine told me about her depression she had a few years back, a few months ago, and it really strawberry floated me up thinking that she had self-harmed and seriously considered suicide several times. Really strawberry floated me up, especially thinking that she worked on the front desk of my office complex at the time (I met her at work, as she later changed to work in my office, even before I started), so if she had of gone through with suicide I probably would have just been told by someone at work that "oh, the girl on reception killed herself a few years back. She was always miserable" and never would have met her.

I've never been properly depressed, nevermind diagnosed with it, but I've had my low points, like anyone, and when I do I just try to keep myself busy with my close mates. That's what they're there for anyway.
