Lore bits:

- The Exo Stranger confirmed as Elsi Bray, Ana's sister
- Clovis Bray mixed elements of the Darkness and Vex to create Exos
- there's a description of a captured star surrounded by planet fragments that may or may not be the new raid area.

I take it all thoughts of leaving our solar system are now gone?

After buying this at launch I hardly ever played it unfortunately. Looking forward to jumping in on the Series X using the Gamepass.

How easy is it to get into as a brand new player?

(it's notoriously terrible for new/lapsed players. Bungie have stated they've completely redesigned the new player experience alongside Beyond Light so yeah, I'd wait until after that drops!)

I don't think extra solar system stuff was ever explicit. It was about reclaiming humanity's territory, which I'm pretty sure was limited to the Sol system.

There's loads of galactic stuff in the lore, and technically we have left the solar system already (the Dreaming City is in a pocket dimension for example). Now that the Darkness is here though I can't see us leaving Sol, except to go to other planes/dimensions.

I sometimes wonder about trying it but it does look to be incredibly messy for new players; it's even hard to understand what the different packs / expansions in the PS Store contain (and what they don't, as I think some stuff is being archived or something?). It's good to hear that the new expansion will hopefully make things a bit clearer!

I'm still looking forward to seeing this running on Series X even though I'll need to start a whole new account.

Seeing it running at 4K 60 should be pretty great.

Is the high price because it's quite a revision? Like destiny 2 was itself when it first released. I'm hoping that this has lots to do and is worth vaulting areas away.

You won’t. I moved consoles and kept my main character no bother. I had to re-buy some bits but that’s now unnecessary on Xbox.

I haven't played in at least 2 maybe 3 years so I'm assuming all my gear is massively obsolete now.
I never had the best stuff anyway and I can't remember what light level I am.
From memory I did the first raid of Destiny 2 and the one in the golden vault with the robot guy but we never completed it. I remember there was some kind of wall puzzle and a room where you had to run about a ring and jump through specific gates and was super heavy on mechanics.

Hard to tell how much of a revision it's going to be. I think they'll mix up the sandbox and rebalance but it's not going to be a soft reset like The Taken King and Forsaken was.

Most of the autumn expansions are £35 now theyb switched to that being the biggest content drop every year. I don't expect it to be as weighty as TTK and Forsaken, but hopefully it'll be bigger than Shadowkeep.

The big problem with the Beyond Light pricing is that, unlike Shadowkeep, it didn't include the cost of the next season/battle pass. That'll be another £8.

They haven't gone into how season 12 is going to work at all so far. strawberry float, there might not even be one until after Beyond Light's launch (which is unlikely). It's very confusing.

I don't think so... Looking at the Steam page there's Beyond Light (40 euros) and Beyond Light + Season 12 only (50 euros so the usual extra tenner). The Deluxe version does come with a year's worth of seasons and that's 70 euros but comes with some other gumph too.

Thinking about it though, I'm not entirely sure Beyond Light isn't going to rival Forsaken at least. Quick list of what we're getting

- New patrol area, which looks to be the biggest in the game so far
- New SP campaign
- New raid
- New element class
- Element modding system
- New enemy types (Darkness Fallen and new Vex constructs at least)
- Revised and updated armour and weapon modding system (Armour 2.5)
- Ghost modding system
- New version of Gambit
- Revamped patrol zone from D1 and at least a new strike
- New New Player experience

That's just off the top of my head. I also wouldn't be surprised if they throw another secret patrol area at us too a la The Dreaming City

I won't be playing till the next-gen update anyway so at least I'll know how much content there is.

They're removing 7 strikes and 5 raids so if it ends up being a Shadowkeep-level expansion then that won't be a good look.
