I hate the warlock too. Took me ages to actually realise the knack to the jump. I was with my clan mates when they told me I was basically flicking the stick wrong. The team mate who we always have to wait for in the raid jumping puzzles is a warlock too.

I'm a warlock main and the jump definitely takes a while to get used to (although after trying the other classes I still think they have the best one!). Might want to try changing up your jump type too.

Been off this for a while, but yesterday I finally got hold of a ps5 and decided to give it a go on it. Its definitely more enjoyable not having to wait 3/4 minutes looking at loading screens and it also looks so much better (this doesnt mean much I guess to who plays it on pc) but having made a switch from PS4/1080p combo to PS5/4K combo I was quite impressed.

It's really the 60/4K combo that makes a difference.

Is cross play a go yet?

It's in beta right now, full roll-out next season (so September? I think)

Another Vault of Glass run, another 4 trash machine guns. Thnx Bungie

I'm really after the armour so I can transmog it all. Already got the class item gloves and boots but no chest or helm yet. Don't care about Fatebringer and from the sounds of it Vex Mythoclast is one of the weakest exotic weapons in the game right now.

I am become jawa, artificial extender of dead threads...

Anyway, finally completed my first run of Deep Stone Crypt today. Right from Beyond Light's release I didn't want to read up on it, and wanted to go in as blind as possible. I leaned a few things over the months but I generally did not know what was in there.

So yeah, it was great. Narratively and cinematically it's by far the most impressive raid they've done. There are some truly excellent setpieces and cutscenes and the jumping section was just unbelievably spectacular.

Mechanically I thought it was overly fiddly. Bunches of buffs and debuffs and juggling them all between players just felt a little...overdone? Like Bungie felt they had to make it as complex as possible. It's not too complicated when you get the idea, but it's extremely finnicky.

I really want the chest armour (the best looking piece in the game as far as I'm concerned) and the Heritage slug shotgun but of course I got nothing...4 boots, 2 bonds, 2 sniper and a shite sword roll (this after spending 240 spoils to grab a bunch of chests from the cache at the end).

I started the season like 3 weeks late so I’m trying to wade through all of the challenges. There’s something about Override that I just don’t like - 6 players is a mistake given the size of the arenas, it’s a touch long and repetitive and the seasonal weapons are mostly rubbish. Good job I have to play frigging loads of it for these challenges!

I didn't like Override to begin with, nor the seasonal weapons but I came round on both. Override is better than Battlegrounds and whatever the Arrivals activity was called (and obvs better than Hunts as...everything is better than hunts) but yeah, it's too easy and lacks enough enemies for a 6 man. You could triple the enemy count and it'd be about right.

The season weapons are great with the right rolls. I've got Feeding Frenzy and Kill Clip on the auto and Heating Up and High Impact on the Pulse and they both whip. The rest are a bit meh though (apparently the grenade launcher has some good perk combos but why bother when Salvager's Salvo is still around?).

Finally got Dredgen today. Another title to add to the list!

At the risk of annoying Taf I just have to say again, to get it off my chest - Expunge is literally the worst piece of Destiny content I think I have ever played, by a substantial margin. Hate, hate it. strawberry floating hate the bastard. The stupid horrible platforming, the enemy placements which are nothing but trolling, the gooseberry fool final bosses, the eye-bleeding colours.

Hate it.

Hey, everyone's personal tastes are different it's just that I still don't get what there is to hate (even though you've spelled it out!). I think it's fine. It's fine. Not great, not even good. Just fine.

They continue to strawberry floating knock the story out of the park though, with this week confirming some previously-out-there fan theories (Savathun is IN the Last City, in all probability she's Osiris and has been since Beyond Light).

ALSO ALSO, I got Eyes of Tomorrow on my second run of DSC (it's VERY fun if not particularly meta).

It's cheap.

That's the problem - they did simulations earlier in the cycle and they felt much better than the cloloured blocked

Free afternoon so decided to try out new season, Overide is terrible. (I assume it changes locations weekly?). It's another thing where you can't fail so they've not tried to balance the challenge. It's just pew pew die pew pew die pew pew win. The platform section is odd...the first upgrade on your glove has you bypass it?

Expunge isn't for me, but if you're into speed running I bet it's fun. Looks cheap and low effort graphics wise compared to Bray's simulations.

It's a shame as they seem to have worked out how to (cheaply) tell a decent ongoing story. Got a giggle out of Ikora telling us we're going to see her a lot more now :D

"Osiris" is Savathun? Or is it Lakshmi? She was singing Savathun's song...

Are the challenges harder this time? They seem to be based on limited testing. Still largely doable over whole season, but it felt much easier to "catch up" quickly last time I dipped in. Although some are daft (50 kills in Team Scorch? No thank you). Also the Rep up currency with Chosen you seem to get enough from challenges, but to get Data here it feels like you need to run Overide/Epunge/Corrupted?

The thing about Override not being failable, is that this is probably a response to Season of the Worthy's seasonal challenge being quite difficult to do a successful run in (I think, I wasn't around that season).

That had either a stricter time limit, fail states or required a bit more cooperation with ransoms, and so people were failing it.

The seasonal activity is meant to be grindabke and bring progression in terms of upgrade materials for the seasonal MacGuffin (in this case the gauntlet).

If you make it so that you can fail it, then not only does the grinding become a time investment, it can become a waste of time. You play an activity for 20 mins and you fail at it. It was the same with the Forges in the Black Armoury season, where you could fail because one of your random matchmade team didn't throw the balls at the forge. Or they quit out. Or they didn't kill the enemies that dropped the ball etc. You wouldn't make it to the chest at the end, and you'd get nothing.

The seasonal activity isn't meant to be hard. It's meant to be something you go into knowing you'll get to the chest at the end. It's meant to be grindable and something you repeat. It's meant to be the bread and butter of a season.

I don't think Override is great, and it needs some tweaks. Personally I'd have had it at 3 on a team, shortened the opening part with the notes as it's too lopsided towards that and made the boss more interesting.

I wouldn't have made it harder though. I wouldn't have made it so you can fall the mote collecting and get booted out.

People do argue that Destiny has a difficulty problem, outside of raids. They are probably right, but if difficulty needs to get buffed somewhere, I would argue against it being the seasonal activity.

The challenges are about the same but they give far less xp. Bungie bodged together some excuse about last season's challenges being boosted because...reasons.

Agree with Parksey that Override should have been 3 man but it's still the best seasonal activity in ages. Battlegrounds were cool looking but too long, the Hunts were straight dogshit and the one in Arrivals was just gambit.

Overall this season had been pretty damn good I'd say. Story is probably the best it's ever been, weekly content is of a good level, new raid is fun

Trying to complete one of the challenges - getting enough data to level up the rep to level 20 - is going to take an absolute age. Disappointed at the amount of XP you get for ticking a challenge off, last time it was too much but now it’s too little.

Another VoG run, another bunch of shite drops. I swear I have the worst luck with this raid, constant machine guns and class item armours. All I want is the chest piece and helmet!

Oh well, it's fun at least. Almost got it to below an hour now, though I was teaching a friend this run so we probably did the actual encounters in about 50 mins or so.

I honestly don't know why you lot continue to play. Based on this thread you all (bar Parksey) hate absolutely everything about the game!

Champions are a nice extra challenge on harder tier activities. They're fine.
