Destiny 2: The Witch Queen out now

What's the Christmas event? I thought they only ever had the Dawning, which usually lasts three or four weeks bridging New Year. Think it starts on next weekly reset (the 17th) and ends mid-January.

That's what I was referring to. I'm away home next week but am back early Jan so I might get to see it after all...after Christmas

Have they mentioned what the plans are for Destiny and next gen?
The game already looks and sounds great so I imagine they could really make it shine. I assume it will need to be cross gen play as surely you'll have loads of people with team members with this gen and some with next gen.

They'll have zero excuses this time for not hitting 60fps at least.

Yep, The PC can manage it without needing people to have monster gaming rigs so next gen should easily be able to handle it.
With K&M support it should be pretty much the PC version at whatever settings it can manage.

I’ve been buying the seasons separately so far, and felt really stung by the last one - there was a pitiful power increase, the PvE activity was a bloody mess and the quests were pretty awful (and buggy, as it turned out). I think I’m still out.

They're sorely missing Activision. I saw they announced some stuff the other week that pissed the community off once again.

Downloaded this on a whim when I saw it was free on Steam. I know nothing about it other than it's an online shooter.

I would imagine getting into this now would be rather daunting as there's now loads of planets and the game mechanics can seem pretty complex at first.
I've always been a little sad that the support classes or items were never anywhere near as good as I hoped.
Things like the Warlock super that was supposed to give everyone more grenades when activated but the effect was so piss poor that even if I shouted out that I'd activated it people hardly noticed the effect which considering how good the other supers are is really disappointing.

I know I'm not a pro player and my reaction times are measured in days which is why I always gravitate towards support classes in games as I feel it at least means I can stay back and help. I could try sniping I suppose but unless the enemy is nice and prepared to stand still for ages and activate big head mode I'm unlikely to be much good at that.

If you're wondering how this new season is going:

The new Hunter exotic chest piece has been disabled within 48 hours of release because it lets you have infinite super energy
Whisper in the Worm and Outbreak Prime exotic missions are strawberry floated due to you being able to do ridiculous amounts of damage
FPS is strawberry floated on PCs
Apparently levelling up the season pass in PvP can boot the opposing team?
Loading the tower can randomly put you in 12(!) person strike

That’s a tenner saved, phew. Although a 12 person strike sounds mad.

I've been playing around with the early content and I'm pretty impressed with how good the gunplay is having never been a fan of Halo.

Even my awesome headless chicken tactic failed to work out. I have no idea how people were shooting me as surely if I have no strawberry floating idea where I'm going they shouldn't be able to chase or ambush me so I suspect mass cheating

I also suppose it doesn't help that I refuse to use whatever the supposed best gun is and just use guns I can actually kind of hit people with.

I think the most I got was 4 or 5 wins at which point we'd find ourselves put against a bunch of super sweaty twats. There's no way a team who only play for fun can get to the lighthouse as there are so many ultra hardcore players who just know all the cheese spots and tiny sight lines that I'd have zero chance of finding or defending myself from. It means the mode is pretty pointless for me which is a shame but I do get that it's supposed to be for the sweaty hardcore.

I don’t follow this hate on people who are good at something you’re gooseberry fool at. Trials of Osiris isn’t for you, its rewards are designed for players with a discernible amount of skill, something you freely admit to not having.
