So Bungie have announced a load of changes pre-Beyond Light and...yeah they've nerfed a whole loooooad of gooseberry fool.

The worst is the Falling Guillotine's heavy attack being cut by a whopping 24 perfect. So, one of the most fun weapons in the game becomes...another sword.

I'm not invested in the meta enough to know what the rest of it means, but according to ResetEra they've ignored a load of stuff that actually needs fixing and instead strawberry floated around with stuff that was working fine.

They're nerfing the fun stuff yet again? I'm shocked! :o

Looking through stuff and it seems Sunshot, my bae handcannon since D2 day one will be very good after the changes.

Fallen Guillotine is in need of a damage tweak though, as it's pretty much everyone's choice when you have a boss you can get close to and hit like that.

It's less about one weapon being fun to use, and more it being the only logical choice you can make in that slot and ignore all the other weapons.

Bungie have made it clear they don't want any one weapon dominating a loadout or a slot for a long time, (like Mountaintop or Recluse have) and they've also mentioned about seasons/metas having their time and the passing.

I'm fine with that. It's a 3 year game that's going to exist for another 3 years. There's never going to be absokute balance and I'm fine with weapons having their day and then getting dialled back if they need to. In theory though, as you need to make sure some aren't just perennially forgotten about.

I've been using FG since June in pretty much all PVE content as it burns bosses faster than anything else in the game to a ridiculous degree.

I mean, you're not wrong. But at what point does "this weapon is too strong and everyone's using it so we need to nerf it" trump "everyone is using this weapon because it's OP and fun"? FG is overpowered, and much more fun because of it.

I play the game to have fun, not to be part of a perfectly balanced ecosystem. If it was dominating in PvP like Mountaintop then yes, nerf it as it's giving a clear advantage to those without it. But this is an easily accessibly weapon that's strictly PvE and really enjoyable to use. It wasn't breaking the game, it wasn't causing anyone any stress...it was just out there being a powerful, fun weapon to use. It's not even like it's applicable in every situation: it's useless against flying bosses where Heavies like Anarchy or 1k Voices are far better.

Ive no idea if this will keep existing players entertained but for lapsed players like me who like the idea of exploring europa and the new classes but find the list of new things bewildering they still have a long way to go. How do long-term players feel about it all?

I'm extremely excited. It looks like something bigger than Shadowkeep but smaller than Forsaken, with a really interesting new patrol zone, new mechanics and the new items look great.

The patrol zone is new, like, new new for one. It also looks to be the biggest in the game. The new Fallen faction looks demonstrably different from current Fallen (unlike the Moon Hive which were just Hive but red) similar to how the Scorn were different to normal Fallen and we've already seen new Vex units too. There's a new element, the first since release. There's only 1 new strike yes, but 1 old one returning with the Cosmodrome and 2 more over the year (I don't get the ire here who gives a gooseberry fool about strikes at this point?). The new system changes coming in (total mod shake up, element/super modding and Ghost mods) are similar in scope to the ones that surrounded Forsaken too.

Then there's all the usual: new Raid, new gear, new Exotics.

It looks to be a real shakeup of the way the game plays, something Shadowkeep never was but Forsaken definitely was.

Looking forward to it. Me and a mate have downloaded the PC Version today to give it a whirl over the next couple of weeks before we properly jump into the Series X version on November 10th.

Tempted to see if I can push the title, but expect the upgrade umbral decoder currency will do me in

EDIT: Actually, sort of. You can check how many more you have to do in the Collections tab: the remaining empty lore sections will tell you how many you have left.

Nah I need the crystal version of the 3 iteration. If you run the mission you can get any lore tabs from previous weeks in bulk.

Apparently it's not doing any of the 3 now, but staying on the final "new" version until Beyond Light as it's a lead in.

No title for me :(
