I am considering going to the release day screening of this, it looks fantastic

Seems different enough from the game from that trailer, although the overall plot still seems the same with mewtwo and all

Looks like a lot of fun, seriously can't wait for this.
I wonder if Nintendo will port Detective Pikachu to the Switch to cash in on the film.

They hinted there would be more Pokémon related stuff this year.

Seems like a port to go with the film would be easy cash to me.

My prediction of the plot:

The reason that the main guy's dad is missing and the reason why pikachu can "talk" to the main guy and has amnesia has something to do with psychic experiments on pokemon, possibly culminating in the creation of mewtwo - pikachu isn't actually talking, he's using psychic powers (but doesn't realise it).

^remember that guys.

There is a literal game they are taking the plot from, Aaron

Game (and probably film) spoilers:

The game HEAVILY implies (but never confirms) that Pikachu is Harry/Tim's dad, hence their bond and him being a detective. After a car crash mewtwo transfers his consciousness into pikachu.

Hahaha I didn't know that. Still I'm not that far off if it follows the game plot!

From the Detective Pikachu soundtrack, Rita Ora and Kygo. New clips?...

Carry On Pikachu featuring Babs and Sid James. Now I'd pay to see that!
