First time playing this after downloading it from PS+ and really enjoying it. It’s not as bad as folks have made out. The story and cast are engaging. Conflicted as to whether to play it violently or as a pacifist. Normally i always take the “good” route but here i’m rather torn.

I’m enjoying it too although still suffers horribly clunky walking controls and starts as “household chores simulator 2019”.

But that opening chapter is a great way to introduce the game. Feels like the tv show humans.

I downloaded this week, and wasn't expecting to like it, but found it really engaging over all.

Thoroughly enjoyed this, had a pretty depressing ending but I’m impressed at the scope of the branching. Looking forward to trying again to see different outcomes.

Also the lady from the title screen just upped and left me :lol:

Finished it this morning. I enjoyed the last few hours a lot but it seemed to end quite abruptly, like the story for my 2 surviving characters should have carried on to a bit more of a climax. I was really prepared to use the Dirty Bomb.

All in all it was decent, but despite having made several of these games now Quantic still don't seem to know what the most fun parts are. Like the opening, the stuff where you're exploring an environment piecing together clues (even when it's very paint by numbers), is great fun and leads to some real tense moments. Even the Quick time chases are quite good here. There's far to much slow ambling around box ticking and shitty conversation though which is just a chore to get through. It might be more tolerable if the characters were more compelling but they just weren't really.

Connor I found the most interesting but actually ended up the most frustrated with because none of the choices I made for him seemed to do what I wanted. I wanted to play as a conflicted character who through working with a human came to sympathise with the Deviant cause but Not with revolution. Every choice he just lurched one way and then the other though till I just thought strawberry float it and let him die. Marcus was the worst of the three characters by far but the one I got most invested with due to feeling like I was actually directing his actions as I wanted. They seem to have completely skipped any motivation for him becoming robot Jesus and his dialogue and the whole Jericho plot was just terrible. The idea that the androids were sentient fell down immediately when I turned up at Jericho and they're all just stood there motionless in the dark, like robots. The way they became 'deviant' was strawberry floating rubbish too.

Kara was probably the most boring protagonist but at least it always felt like I was in control of that story.


I feel like they're just repeating themself with this style of game now, has it moved on at all since Heavy Rain? I wish they'd just do one which was full on investigation stuff as the branching paths in this are clearly incredibly impressive and could lead to some real fun gameplay with better writing.

I'd play more of these but David Cage should really step aside and let someone else take control.
