I'm going for a massively unsatisfying cop out in true Dexter fashion.

i think mrs mangle may end up killing dexter.

The two main protagonist are Dexter and Deb. It would be disappointing to see him die because of another killer. But Debra would be more acceptable because Dexter ruined her and everything she stands for. But also Mrs Mangle asked Dexter why he didn't kill Debra? So that's another possibility.

Would you like it if he walks off into the sunset? I want the gooseberry fool to hit the fan and to see reactions from everyone.

Another gooseberry fool episode. :|

Shame that ending happened so early in the season as there was no way there would be any other outcome. Good on Deb for hitting that ramp square on

Wat. Where can they go from here? :slol:

It's a shame they killed another enemy off so quickly. :( Now they have to introduce a new arc with a similar theme. :dread:

That episode was terrible, and felt really cheap and cheesy even by Dexter standards. :fp:

The last we saw was Deb trying to kill Dexter and this episode start with them both in some marriage counselling type of meeting :fp:
When the proffessor woman decides to put the stereo on and play that cheesy song you just know it's going to become background music for a fight :fp:
Love how subtle Masukas 'daughter' was with her money scrounging
Superhuman Dexter impaling the baddie with a curtain rail through a bed :fp:

I've often thought people have been harsh on Dexter's weakest moments. Season 3, for example, is widely pilloried, but I thought it was a great season that just lacked a compelling 'big bad'. Season 6 is definitely the worst Dexter season but again, I didn't think it was the abomination some did, despite a stone-cold clunker of a twist that we all saw coming within about three episodes. This, however, was dreadful on so many levels - it was like the writers decided to press the reset button, and so now it feels like the first five episodes were almost entirely pointless. The acting seemed to take a nosedive and the editing was bizarre. That scene where Dexter misses a phone call from Deb near the beginning and the voiceover just goes "damn" was baffling, like they needed to fill a few extra seconds.

And then you get one of the worst bad guys in Dexter history, who apparently is dissuaded from cutting someone's toes off by being slapped in the face and then goes out of the room to leave his hostage alone so she can make a crucial phone call. Staggeringly lazy plotting. The guy's acting was terrible, too - "strawberry float YOU, DEXTOR!"

Seven episodes to redeem itself, then, but it feels like it's running on fumes, and to suddenly turn an apparently minor character into a major story arc this close to the end proves how little the writers have thought about future seasons in the past. There's clearly never been any kind of masterplan.

This has defiantly been the weakest Dexter so far. Do feel let down by the writers

There's no way this is as bad as S6. It's not even close. Charlotte Rampling's presence alone pretty much ensures that. In fact I didn't even think it was bad at all.

I don't really understand why everyone is panicking that they've blown the ending or wasted the past five episodes. There's still a huge chunk of the season left to build up to something good. Deb and Dexter were obviously never going to be at each other for long and in order to bring them back together, it had to be a common interest and a life or death situation, which is just what happened.

Now they can focus on giving us what we've wanted since the beginning of the show.

Admittedly I was watching this in the background while browsing the internet but I can't remember that terrible actor actually confessing to cutting out those brains, he only seemed to be annoyed Dexter broke into his house. Maybe Vogel murdered her former patients to tie up loose ends and bond with Dexter.

And was Masuka's daughter flirting with him? :dread:
