Yup. I mean, if you don't like the game you don't like the game. If you (you being Orange here) didn't care for the campaign it's unlikely the endgame will convert you. If you merely found it too easy however, the Seasonal mode is definitely more of a challenge.

Wee word of warning for anyone who has started a new season recently, I think the next season starts on the 14th or thereabouts. You will be able to continue to use your current seasonal character but won’t be able to work towards the seasonal rewards (which are bloody worth getting). You’ll need to start a new one to get the new seasons rewards. I’m twitching to start a demon hunter, but waiting until the next season to get started.

Actually I thought the new season didn't start until mid January? Saw some people complaining about it on the Blizzard forums, unless the dates are different for the PC.

Is it? It wasn't unlocked for me when I started it up again a few weeks back. Got to level 40 something by the middle of act 2, and got a bit bored of the core gameplay loop, honestly. Can't see myself going through another 3 acts just to unlock it.

I'll never really get my head around games like this where "the real game is the endgame", but that change is gated off behind a big chunk of slightly different, not quite as good, game.

Really? gooseberry fool. A mate and I just started a couple of weeks back. We've just hit Act 2. No chance of finishing it by the 14th :(

Don’t worry. Read today it has been extended until the 11th of January. That’s long enough to get all the good stuff for a season if you are playing regularly!

A couple of evenings a week 3-4 hours each time. May get more time over Xmas. Thanks for the heads up.

32 quid on Amazon for switch at the moment. Insane value when you consider the hours you can put in between all the classes and seasons. Cheaper on other platforms aye but I can't take my PS4 to the folks at Xmas. :D

Despite owning this on four different platforms, I got as far as I ever have in story mode tonight...Leah, nooooooooooo.

I do have some pretty sick kit though, including Legendary trousers that make you poison enemies by shitting yourself whenever too many turn up at one time.

Currently trying to get one character to max level on hardcore mode then just need two more classes to max level for the platinum!

Season 16 starts today*. Who's starting a new character, and what are you playing?

I've not played the game for a few months, so I think I'm ready to return. I like the ranged characters, and mained a Demon Hunter last season, so I think I'll pick Wizard this time.

EDIT: Seems like Barbarian gets the best gift set with this season, so might go that first instead.

Season 16 introduces a brand-new buff to the mix that will change up the way you play. For the duration of Season 16, all Seasonal players will benefit from the legendary power of the Ring of Royal Grandeur. This means you do not need to hunt down or equip the item to benefit from its Set bonus-enabling ability! Bear in mind that this buff does not stack with additional Rings of Royal Grandeur, whether they be equipped directly on your character or via the Jewelry slot in Kanai’s Cube.

For the uninitiated, this means many classes may be able to combine different Class Set bonuses in new ways—or squeeze yet another Legendary power into their favorite builds. Theorycrafters unite!—this is the season to strut your stuff, experiment to your heart’s content, and push the limits of your most perfectly crafted build. While we’ve done our own experimenting, we can’t wait to see what the community comes up with in Season 16!

* 4pm GMT on PC, 1am GMT tomorrow on consoles.

I’ve just seen that consoles is 1am so I won’t be playing today as planned :(

I’m planning on starting a Demon Hunter. I used a Witch Doctor in 15, so fancied something a bit different.

Will be playing on switch tomorrow night if anyone fancies it.

I might give wizard a go, or maybe monk. Which is generally considered better?

My first time playing a season and, fwit, I'm going with Monk. Only at level 7 but it seems like there's potential for a lot of cool skills. I've been playing as a Necromancer so it's very different (I need to do all the hard work, for one thing!).

I opted for long range and went wizard. Loved playing as necromancer and demon hunter and eventually barbarian was decent but felt much weaker to start. Still want to try monk at some point though

What’s the best way to boost to 70? I’m just planning on doing Story til I get Leorics Crown then using that in adventure to try and hit 70 as quickly as I can.

I made these notes last season...

Steal followers weapon.
Check for easy bounty bosses for chest on Master dificulty (Magda, Zoltun Kulle, Belial).
Change to hard and complete all remaining bounties in the act.
Craft weapons upgrades, only spend gold to upgrade the blacksmith for the next item level.
Socket Rubies into your helm and weapon, all other sockets use your mainstat gem.
Buy damage rings at level 7 & damage amulet at level 11.
Complete the campaign through the leoric checkpoint to get leoric's Crown.
Get Kanai's Cube, just fight your way there. drop difficulty in necessary.
At level 21 start doing normal rifts.
At Level 42 try and craft level 60 weapon with 18 reduced levels.
At Level 61 try and craft a level 70 with reduced levels.

I got this on Switch last year but still not played it but I plan to get into it soon. All this season stuff and everything sounds quite in depth though, is it best for me to play through the story mode first before even glancing at anything else?

Yes, but you might as well create a seasonal character. You'll get some extra rewards.
