Why didn't they just divert all the planes?

The problem with 4 was that Willis was really off form. I don't know whether it is because he is turning into a grumpy bastard in real life, but Mclane in 4 had absolutely no wit or humour that made him so likeable in the first three. The baddie wasn't much cop either.

They need to make sure the next one gets the humour back.

At school my chemistry teacher used to make a paper aeroplane and then make a fuel trail using some sort of petrol-like substance and have it go all the way around the room. Then he'd do his Bruce Willis impression: "yippee-kay-aye mother strawberry floater", light the end of the trail, and then a flame would travel the room and 'blow up' the aeroplane. Compared to maths lessons it was amazing.

I never learnt any chemistry as we were always blowing gooseberry fool up, but for that reason alone Die Hard 2 is way more awesome than Die Hard 4. Plus it has snowmobiles. 8-)

The bad guy in 4 was Timothy Olyphant. I can't even remember who the bad guy in 2 was.

One thing we can all agree is that Timothy Olyphant needs to stick to TV and stay away from movies. He helped ruin Hitman and Die Hard 4, when he should have been making another Deadwood. :x

Very good point captain red dog. In Die Hard 2, whether or not you like the film, it was classic wise-cracking John McClane.

In Die Hard 4 he was just not the same, probably thanks to age. And the film was basically Taken + Hackers.

Paul Walker could star in A Good Day to Die Hard as John McClane's son.

The Fast and the Furious star is in the running to take on the role in the fifth Die Hard film, reports Variety.

Walker, Ben Foster (X-Men: The Last Stand), Paul Dano (Where the Wild Things Are), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) are all said to be meeting Bruce Willis next week to audition for the part.

At 38, Walker is the oldest of those in the running for the role.

The latest instalment in the franchise centres on McClane and his son's involvement in a prison escape.

Max Payne's John Moore is attached as director. The A-Team's Skip Woods is drafting a script for the film.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in Russia in January 2012.

The only reason why Aaron Paul shouldn't be given this role is if the filming schedule clashes with Breaking Bad.

Another reason is that he can do better than a shitty Die Hard film.

As opposed to all the films he's doing at the moment? Being in a big budget film like this is more likely to get him more offers than not doing it.
