I wasn't expecting there would be anything particularly demanding about the game, is it not the case the PS4 port has problems because it was rushed rather than the console itself is technically struggling? I'm still holding out and hopeful for the Switch release.

I'm pretty far in now and I haven't come across anything game breaking. I'm not denying that the bugs aren't there but this is nothing like Cyberpunk when it comes to glitches.

Cyberpunk definitely had (and still has) game breaking bugs and plenty of things that blocked your progress!

Really hope they sort this out on console though, it's a huge shame that it has been rushed out like this

Just to clarify, I'm not saying Cyberpunk doesn't have game breaking bugs. I'm saying that, in my opinion, Cyberpunk is not worth playing in its current state (not that it's even on PS5) whereas, although I'd recommend waiting for the patches to hit, Disco Elysium is nowhere near as broken and still very playable.

1.3 definitely feels more of a step up than 1.2. Some basic functionality seems to have been restored, it’s a lot snappier and movement feels less janky.

Back to talking about the game.

I’m obsessed with the style of it and role playing a detective, it’s brilliant fun and a gorgeous world to be in. At the same time, a lot of the side stuff is pretty snore inducing, thing is, sometimes it will randomly be really important so you can’t really just pick and choose what you do.

On the night of Day 3 after Kim’s gone to bed and am pretty happy with progress. So far I think I’ve only had one major strawberry float up and that is the body is still lying on the floor as I couldn’t get to a fridge, most other checks I’ve negotiated through well I think. Still pretty perplexed by everything that’s going on with the Union in Whirling and Rags and why I’ve not just arrested them after they admitted killing the guy, it meant the core story has lost some impetus, but as I still have things to do I’m just pushing forward for now. I’m really enjoying some of the side quests when there’s some detection involved, even if it is quite light, the body on the pier being the standout so far.

As if, that's way too advanced for Switch.

Played about 2 hours of this earlier. Looking like my GOTY already. I expected nothing less, but to be so happy with what it actually is and how well it has me my expectations so far is quite an achievement.

Yep, that seemed to come out about 10 hours after 1.3.

No bugs in the first couple of hours, and there is a voiced "Tutorial Agent" which I don't believe was present before.

My interest in this is waning as I run out of things to explore and developments in the case are minimal and rather obtuse.

You know it’s a great one when your 3 hours in and worrying about what you could possibly play that offers even a fraction of the experience. I’m already considering my next playthrough. Hopefully by listening to all the dialogue The run time will be a touch longer than the original version, where reading is obviously much faster.

I love the way there is a tactile feedback to all the skill checks etc, like it actually makes a visceral impact.

The new voice actor suits Shivers dialogue so well. I could listen to him read a whole noir audiobook.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I have almost no points in shivers and a pretty harsh cap (i went low fys). It was a trade off for me of that route or Inland Empire (i took the latter). Next playthrough will be shivers heavy though.

Also, Measurehead is strawberry floating terrifying. Much like The Shitty Beatles, its not just a clever name.

I really didn't want to subscribe to Advanced Race Theory. So to get past ol' Measurehead I made sure to put some skill points into Physical Instrument so I can remain a left wing non-racist.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:
