Discord Help

My girlfriend is using the Discord Web app on her Mac to watch a live stream whilst everyone is on camera speaking. They keep saying she has background noise which I assume is from the stream. I'm not an expert in discord or macs, is there a way to fix this?

It's the macs speakers feeding back into the microphone which on macs is... Built into the speaker grille, or next to the webcam.

All she can do is use a headset, or headphones with the Sound options in System Configuration set to use the "built in microphone" for recording and the "built in output" selected instead of the speakers.

Thanks, I assumed it was something like that, not sure I have to that issue with my £400 Lenevo, seems like poor design.....

Daft design from apple that prioritises style of substance? I'm shocked, shocked!

Yeah putting the microphone under the speaker in my mbp sure was smart.

I'm sure there is supposed to be some kind of rejection but it doesn't always work. The fan noise is also terrible because stuck an i7 in that runs at well over 100 degrees. The GPU melted itself about 7 years ago so I use the embedded Intel cpu graphics only.

And let's make the air intake and outlet the same thing while we're offering that 2.66GHz cpu on the exact same thermal design, that'll be just fine.

Anyway, nothing can be done about this marvellous piece of design, I laughed pretty hard when I repaired it the first time and saw how those two are situated together.
