I don't think he wants anymore responsibility. He makes too much money running his investment group and thinks that a cabinet position would stop him being able to put the hours in that he needs to. I've heard he was offered a junior minister role a few months ago but turned it down.

Apparently the business secretary refused to move. Hunt was meant to have the role. Some strong and stable leadership.
