So do we reckon that UKIP are falling apart then. They've lost their only MP it can't be too long until they totally implode.

I dont think they will implode, I do think they will shift further into the extreme right and fizzle like the BNP. The more extreme of them will feel they are legitimized in their views than ever now like we are seeing with the public and they will shout more and that will kill them off.

There doesn’t seem to be any point in UKIP existing anymore, which is why Farage, Reckless and Carswell have run away.

I expect they will stick around as a hard right party and will drift further and further towards BNP/EDL territory.

Oddly their only hope of remaining as a “serious” party is that Brexit ends up being Brexit-lite and we somehow stay in the EEA or part of the single market. Then they can carry on whining about how unfair everything is and how everything will be magically better if we just ignored Europe.

They'll exist until we actually leave the EU, after that they'll pretty certainly fizzle out of existence and just blend into the Tories.

Byline wrote:THE SUN newspaper ordered specialist data ‘blaggers’ to target every leading bone and intestinal cancer specialist in London in an attempt to obtain the confidential medical information of a seriously ill woman, the High Court has heard.

Two senior editorial staff used company emails to coordinate the systematic “trawl” of medical experts, which lawyers for alleged victims of phone hacking at the tabloid say showed a newsgathering culture “shocking in its level of intrusion”.

The paper’s aim was to learn intimate details of the unnamed woman’s battle with the disease by paying investigators to obtain her private health information so it could later be published, according to the claimants’ barrister David Sherborne.

The emails sent by Chief Foreign Correspondent Nick Parker to Head of News Chris Pharo on October 18, 2006, - when The Sun was selling more than 3.1m copies a day - emerged in hearings to establish how much of its own internal documentation should be disclosed ahead of a civil trial over alleged phone hacking.

In them, Mr Parker wrote: "Checks at St Mark's (Hospital) Harrow came up with no sign of X heiress (her name was removed by The Sun’s lawyers before disclosing the emails). Have gone back to contact seeking more info.”

He went on: “Blaggers (are) now attempting manual trawl of all top London specialists in bone cancer and intestinal cancers in the hope that we get lucky but will take time.”

The reference to blagging - using deception to obtain private information, a method of journalism justified only in cases of clear public interest - is potentially damaging to Rupert Murdoch’s News Group Newspapers (NGN) which is denying a range of allegations against its market-leading newspaper, including both illegal voicemail interception and unlawfully obtaining confidential phone billing data of members of the public.

Its solicitors, Clifford Chance, said in a statement: “NGN intends robustly to defend, in particular, allegations made in respect of The Sun.”

At the hearing, the company’s barrister, Anthony Hudson QC, did not comment on the alleged fraudulent acquisition of medical data.

Could play into Murdoch's bid for Sky...again.

Yes he is. I think he's been practicing as his voice seems more measured and crisp. He used to sound a little whiny.

He has a very good chance of making masssive gains in the next election is Corbyn is still about, and it wouldn't be hard to sound better than May.

There's an EDL march right on my doorstep tomorrow :dread: it was planned to be in Derby but they've moved it to Birmingham because of the attack in London last month.

I went out during the last one and it was horrible. Vile, nasty banana splits walking around like they own the place with their tops off, drinking gooseberry fool beer from cans; helicopters overhead, heavy police presence and a general atmosphere of hatred.

Might see if I can get pictures for the thread. I could be GRcade's political correspondent, live from the scene 8-).

They had one in London the other week. They managed to get about 300 people out.

You should try get pics if possible, would be interesting.

Saw one in Edinburgh a few years back that amounted to about 30 fat, drunk pricks shouting while cornered in a street by the police. Wasn't very impressive

This would actually be fascinating. Don't put yourself in any danger though.
