Apparently Number 10 knew about one of the meetings but asked PP to not mention it as it'd seem like she was treading on a department's toes :slol: That worked out well, eh.

So Patel resigned and Johnson appears to be keeping his job.

Is there anything that ministers could do that’d make May sack them? :slol:

I hate May but to be fair this would have been a case of resign and maybe get back in cabinet in the future or be sacked and spend years on the back benches.

I think this is a case of "May is too weak to sack you, but if you don't resign you'll do too much damage to the party".

It should never have been Patel's choice to make. May was handed a golden opportunity to show decisive leadership and sack Patel but squandered that opportunity.

Yes, that’s why Patel did it.

The laughter comes from May being too weak to have sacked her.

Patel has no place being in government whatsoever, never mund stuck in the backbenches.

She probably knows stuff that would hurt May, so better for May to let her leave on her terms.
