I have no interest in the game, or the figures really, but the figures atleast compared to Skylanders actually look nice.

Well, everyone apart from Venom who for some reason looks really bad.

To be fair I'd imagine these will hold their value longer so you might as well get them early.

I've read that each play set can be played through in around seven hours. I think there will be a lot of re-playability arrising from using different figures and abilities. From a Marvel perspective, the Starter Pack includes an Avengers play set, with Spider-man and Guardians of the Galaxy sets also available at launch.

Damn this thread and the damage it could do to my wallet. I'm starting to crumble, best offers on pre-order (either PS3 or Wii U)?

Most retailers are now offering an additional 'free figure' with the Starter Packs. Rex, your first choice is to decide whether to go for the Colllectors Edition Starter Pack (PS versions only; very expensive but cool) or the standard Starter Pack. Check out the opening post for full details.

Price-wise, the Collectors Edition Starter Pack is £115 (Amazon and game.co.uk) and the basic Starter Pack is around £57 (PS4) and £52 (PS3 / Wii U).

Be cautious though, Rex... I started off by thinking I'd get the basic Starter Pack along with one or two extra figures. Things have escalated since then, though :-).

The dream is over. I've bailed out on all my pre-orders; the total cost was getting way too high. It had to be all or nothing and I've gone for the latter.

I'll have to vicariously live the Marvel dream through GRcadians who who jump into the Infinity universe.

Is it possible to buy this game on its own?

No details have been confirmed yet, HSH, but apparently the Infinity 2.0 software itself may be made available through the digital stores. The Infinity 1.0 bases are compatible* with the newer edition. But... you'd need the new Play Set and figures that come with the Starter Pack. Unless you chose to just get the separate Spider-man or Guardians Play Sets instead.

* The Wii U, PS3 and PS4 bases are cross-compatible with each other; the Xbox bases aren't.

Yeah, I'm tempted to get the original Infinity on Wii U (£22.99 in GAME instore) and then get Infinity 2.0 on PS4 and buy one of the playsets like you say.

HSH, hold off on that approach, dude! I wouldn't recommend it:

- There's no guarantee that the 2.0 software will get a digital release
- Even if it does, it'll be at some daft digital price
- Your total cost would be 23 + daft digital price + 35 for a Play Set = circa 98

You'd be better off buying the Infinity 2.0 Starter Pack for PS4; for 57 quid (Amazon) you'd get the base, software on disc, Avengers Play Set and three figures.

Well yeah, but then I wouldn't get the original game.

Then there's the fact I have £40 odd in GAME credit on a card so it won't actually cost me anything to get the original anyway.

Just ordered from Tesco. £38 after taking off some clubcard points.

I'm hoping my kids and I will get a lot of play/enjoyment out of this. They seem pretty taken by the whole idea. Worried my obsessive/collector side will 'gotta have em all', and this will end up costing a small fortune. :?

So who's still in on this? Jawafour have you re-ordered yet?

I am a bit worried its going to be a complete baby game, but can't help being hyped for it.

No Infinity love here anymore? Under a week away. I'd like to hear if anyone still has pre-orders placed, and what you're going for.

Grainger Games have Nick Fury, Iron Fist, and Hawkeye for £8.99 each. This is the cheapest I have found them. Postage is free.

Can anyone explain what the disney infinity 2.0 toy box combo pack releasing 9/11/14? Is it just disney infinity 2.0 but without the marvel game disc and marvel characters and instead you get stitch and Merida? So will the toy box mode be the same in the combo pack as with the 2.0 released this week?

I'm picking up the special edition Friday. It's for the one of the kids for Christmas though. Will be cool to have a go on it then. Not sure on what other characters to get.
