If both my Disney+ and Netflix weren't subsidised I'd rate them, perhaps every couple of months. We also occasionally pay for a month of Hayu.

NOW TV
Britbox
MUBI
BFI Film Library

And loads of other smaller ones. To have all of them would cost you well north of £100pcm.

It's crazy and some of the original benefits of streaming are now in danger of being lost i.e. cheaper pricing, range of content, no adverts.

Every media company thinks they're popular enough to go it alone and we'll probably have a period of frustration for consumers ahead of some of the companies folding or being taken over by the bigger competitors. In a few years it'll probably just be Amazon and Disney left, each charging £60 a month... exactly as Sky did in the dish market.

i wonder if that could spell the end of streaming

Or at the very least a severe reduction in the number of things you have to subscribe to

Crunchyroll too, for the anime connoisseurs amongst us.

That makes it sound far too seedy :slol:

Really enjoying the ILM documentary series on D+, Light & Magic. Very good. I had no idea how far reaching their developments were.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone post about it on here, but has anyone been watching the new series of Only Murders in the Building? It was the penultimate episode of this season last night, and it feels like it's setting up a good fun finale next week! Saw the crooked cop reveal coming, but that "I'm Becky" bit came out of nowhere

It's weird that even though I've watched a couple of his shows now, I still know Michael Rapaport best as the guy from those awful MovieTickets.co.uk adverts they always used to show in the cinemas  Awful adverts, but I can still remember exactly what they were for :dread:

My partner loves this show. I've seen bits of it and it does seem fun tbf. Good cast and well written.

They've nailed the main theme in riffing off every crime podcast going.

I think I watched the first episode of season 1 only. It was fine.

Only Murders is great, surprised there hasn't been more hype about it in all honesty.

The time jump should make the next season feel fresh, but it looks like they're going to need to change the name of the podcast (unless part of the redevelopment of the Arconia was to put a theatre in the basement)

Bunny's final words actually just referring to the sandwich choice of her murderer  wtf.

The yodelshop version of the theme music over the credits :toot: Banger.

New Pinocchio live action film looks really good.

There's been a few live action Pinocchio films over the past few years (more gothic, creepy stuff); glad we're getting a Disney one.

I'm not sure what I was expecting but that actually looks really good. They've managed to capture the look and feel of the original and translate it into a live action film-something most of the live action Disney films either don't bother with or really struggle with.

I'm not sure I can watch this, I always found Pinocchio scary as a kid. It just freaked me out. Never told anyone this before.

You're definitely not alone, it was pretty scary for kids in parts.

Wonder how they'll handle the nightmare fuel kids being turned into donkeys scene.

The Disney cartoon version was freaky. The lad who becomes a donkey screamed plea 'of I want my momma', the Whale was scary as was the puppeteer. The whole thing just had an anxious vibe to it.

Please, PLEASE stop linking to Jordan Peterson. I find his content to be genuinely offensive.

Also related the clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson writes and speaks about Pinocchio quite a lot. He offers a bit of deeper meaning. You may find the below clip interesting.

You've been told about Peterson before. Have you actually bothered to look at him properly yet?

Hey :D

No drama, I've deleted the JP part of the post. I thought his views on Pinocchio were quite interesting and non offensive. But don't want to upset anyone so deleted. Respectfully moving on :D
