It's not surprising how crap British working class culture is when this is the crap most people were raised on.

As with Netflix, they have very little original content to compete with these media giants.

Netflix has plenty of its own content.

Sky have been making their own stuff for a while now, but their movies have been strawberry floating awful. Hurricane Heist and that one set at West Ham were appallingly bad.

Curfew with Sean Bean, the radio adverts were enough to put me off.

Not surprised at the IMDB 5.2 rating

I’ve not even heard of that one but I got rid of Sky Movies ages ago.

Does Sean Bean die in it?

Netflix have a huge amount of original content, and they are ploughing more and more money into their own programming. To the point where I think some investors are concerned.

It can be hard to discern exactly how much original content Netflix really have as they seem to plaster their "Netflix Original" banner over all sorts of stuff that they never made in the first place!

Case in point, this list includes things like Better Call Saul - a show made by Sony/AMC which Netflix just have distribution rights for.

I wonder how sustainable Netflix's current business model actually is, because they're blowing through an astonishing amount of money.

I don't care about Disney, Pixar or Marvel material so I'll gladly not pay for this.

Not sure what can be done to combat the stupid number of streaming services there already are and will likely increase.

1. With all the takeovers and mergers happening (Disney buying Fox, Warner buying HBO, Comcast buying Sky) we could end up with only 5 or 6 main services.

2. Subscribing to them all probably works out about the same as a Sky subscription (with Cinema), and you can dip in and out monthly.

This will replace it, Disney Life was an experiment.

Considering before streaming I probably spent hundreds of pounds a year on DVDs, on top of sky, and now I basically never buy anything, I'm not really sure having a couple of streaming services at £5-10 a month really makes it any more expensive to most people, and vastly increases the amount of content I have access to, at 0 marginal cost.

I ditched Virgin and have Amazon, Netflix and sometimes NowTV on the go.

I love how you can just dip in and out when you feel, no waiting for installation, having stupid mandatory packages and waiting an hour on the phone to cancel.

Satellite and cable is a dead duck.

Think I'm going to leave this, looking at the content, it seems like the mature Fox content will only be included as part of a separate Hulu subscription.

Looking forward to seeing what Warner/HBO unveil soon.

Didn't realise this service has no UK date yet. Can see the Mandalorian being one of the most pirated shows ever if there's a long delay.

There was a slide during the presentation showing the European release being across Q1 and Q2 2020.
