It's £3 extra a month to not have a horrible experience. Hardly qualifies as privilege.

Not worth it.

O2 are now offering Disney+ as a bolt-on to your mobile contract.

My mind was blown when I learnt that actor is actually a white guy that did "brownface".

A lot of the Disney Plus content has a disclaimer after the plot description that basically says "this wasn't culturally unacceptable like it would be today and we've not altered or edited to omit it".

This first film is great, the second is awful. The scene where Oscar beats Johnny 5 to death with an axe properly traumatised me as a kid. Dat music when he chases after him :datass:

I'm very happy they have National geographic stuff on here, hopefully they keep adding to it.

I'm a bit disappointed with how there is no mature content on there at all.

No American Dad, Bob's Burgers, Deadpool etc why? It's just a massive hole in their content which Netflix can hold over them.

It's the main reason I haven't signed up, Fade. I'd want to see Ghost Riders(s), Deadpool(s) and The X-Files but Disney is keeping all content fully family-friendly. In the US I believe they put this kinda stuff on their separate Hula streaming service.

I’ve not seen Ghost Rider but is that and X-Files really any more “adult” than Endgame or X-Men? There’s swearing and violence in both of those.

It’s an odd decision and makes me think Disney just want two lots of subscription money coming in.

Yeah, they do have elements of more graphic stuff; especially X-Files and this became a factor in the BBC screening it later and later in the evening for some episodes.

I don't get why they can't include it and have it protected behind a PIN / password code.

Isn't a lot of the sort of content people are referring to coming from the Fox side of things? I imagine a hell of a lot of that is still tied up in agreements with other services for now. It would make sense for Disney to bring more "mature" content over to this as time goes on, but on the other hand I can understand if they want to keep it as a more family friendly service.

I think the idea was that Disney were going to use Disney+ for Child/Family content whilst the more adult oriented Fox content would be on another service like Hulu.

Which makes sense, except we can't get Hulu over here.

National Geographic is Fox

Simpsons is Fox

X-Men films are Fox

It's definitely done by choice.

I think it almost certainly is a choice on their part, but that doesn't mean that pre-existing deals might not be part of the reason why some content is not currently available on the service. Loads of Fox content is still on Netflix at the moment but that doesn't mean it always will be.

I'd say there's pretty much zero chance of the Alien franchise turning up on Disney+ regardless of who owns the streaming rights at the time.

Found that Gummi Bears is on there so put it on for little’un and she is living it. Gets the end of a episode and just wants more, is singing along the theme tune and everything.

So much better than modern day cartoon kids shows.
