I'd probably need to watch Turning Red again to place it properly, and there are some Pixar movies I haven't seen for almost twenty years, but from memory:
Up
Coco
Toy Story 3
Turning Red
Soul
Toy Story
Ratatouille
Incredibles
Monsters Inc.
Inside Out
Wall-E(I realise this is probably gonna be far lower than most - I just didn't take to it as much as I think I was supposed to, though admittedly I was pretty hungover when I saw it)
Monsters University
Incredibles 2
Toy Story 2
A Bug's Life
Finding Nemo
Finding Dory
Brave
Onwards
Luca (Wasn't sure where to put this - I fell asleep for a reasonable chunk of it, which doesn't say much about the film)
Cars
Not seen:
Toy Story 4
Cars 2
Cars 3
The Good Dinosaur
A few minor points about this:
- I realise that my placement of Toy Story 2 may be controversial but I stand by it. It's the weakest of the three I've seen, but it's in no way a bad movie - if anything it's a testament to how much I enjoyed the films above it on the list that it's so lowly rated.
- Also, I realise that I've rated some of the modern Pixar films like Soul and Coco very highly. I stand by this as well. Marking them all on the same criteria, I think the likes of Coco are stronger narratively and better animated than a lot of the earlier films, and I take that into account
- You'll probably see from the list that I didn't get into the Finding films or Wall-E in the same way that a lot of people did, so certainly don't take my view as gospel.
- Also, I irrationally dislike Brave. Dunno why. It's only off the bottom because I barely remember Cars and didn't feel like Onwards was a Pixar film, felt more like a 7/10 indie studio movie.
- I genuinely feel like Turning Red is a top tier movie, and it tackles a subject matter that is both really important and rarely seen in Hollywood film making. So that bumps it up quite highly for me.
