I leave feed out for a pair of nesting goldfinches, but the bastards haven't eaten anything yet.

I replaced the wild seed with Niger seed as they like that better apparently.

We have feeders in the garden and used to get lots of birds come to visit, but then our dog ripped the head off a pigeon out there and since that day we have seen a great reduction in interest from the local avian population!

Wife's dad wipes down the bacon pan with a slice of bread then whacks that out in the garden for the birds. Bit of added fat for them.

We get a few birds in the garden from time to time, they're so so adorable. Been meaning to get some kind of bird feeder for a while and maybe a bird bath. Maybe later on in the summer~

Sporadically. We topped up the feeder this week and have been swamped by a pair of pigeons and a squirrel. Weirdly I don't mind the squirrel, but consider pigeons the wrong type of bird. They entertain the cats though. Thankfully the cats chase away but have not yet made contact with the birds. I don't fancy a half dead pigeon in the garden.

The silly neighbourhood vegetable.

I'm not sure encouraging birds to be near our house is the best idea as our cat is a bit of a bastard. He's caught quite a few as it is. :dread:

My wife cuts all the fat off her, (expensive, farm-shop bought....), bacon, lamb-chops, steak, you name it and puts it out for them. This morning it was a whole tray of raspberries as, apparently, I hadn't examined them properly and they were soft... We are running the best bird feeding centre in Yorkshire!

just had a Jay land on the window sill which I was excited about - up until I found out it eats the nestlings of smaller birds like the gold finches.

 balls

The tits visit every day, and a lovely red breasted bird landed on the fence by me while I was bringing the washing in yesterday. There's also a cuckoo that's making itself known nearby.

One of my cats is so skanky that she decided to use one of the bird baths as her best source of water. :fp:

No wonder the cat uses the birdbath, the poor thing can't be arsed waiting for him to get water out of the well.

Well after all the talk of tits in here it was only going to be so long before we got some pussy.

Also is that a gnome in the background by the well?
