Do you or how often do you double dip on game purchases?

I tend to double dip on a few games where i'll get a version on Switch for portability but then also get the Xbox/PS version for when I play on the TV if the gulf between versions is pretty big (in terms of graphical effects/general performance)

I guess you could also tie in re-releases into this topic, like the recent Mario 3D Allstars collection where the bare minimum was actually changed on this games. I do tend to pick up a lot of remasters/re-releases of games I particularly enjoyed regardless how much has actually changed.

I rarely do it but I have bought Stalker twice (steam and GOG) as well as Underrail and Halo MCC (I sold off the disk verson so probably doesn't count tbh). All were on sale except Halo.

The only game I own more than one copy of is Super Mario Sunshine and only because I wanted to finally play through Galaxy and retry SM64.

Not very often. I did buy Rayman Legends again for XB1, despite owning it on Wii U. I got it real cheap so....

I think my biggest double dip is Ocarina of Time with eleven copies:

Bought it on PS4, XB1, Google Play, IOS, Switch for my kids over the years.

I hate Minecraft! Can’t get on with it.

Never. I don't see the point, or have the need to.

I think Minecraft wins as I have it on PC, PS3, PS4, Vita and Switch.

Jak and Daxter I have on PS2, PS3/Vita, PS4.

Link's Awakening I have on GB, GBC, 3DS VC, and the remake on Switch. I've played it emulated on PC too.

I do own two copies of quite a lot of games (e.g. TimeSplitters 2 on PS2 and GC, Skyrim on PS3 and Switch), with remasters that goes up a fair bit too.

The latest "double dip" would be No More Heroes on Switch as I have it on Wii. The second game is new to me though!

I really want to collect/play all of the versions of Rayman 2. So far I own it physically for N64 and Dreamcast and have played the PS1 version digitally on Vita. They all have their differences, some quite significant, which is what makes it so interesting to play the different versions of.

I dread to think how many games I've double/triple/quadruple dipped on :dread:

This, it isn't worth contemplating. I know Sonic and Sonic 2 are probabably my most dipped though.

Rarely, I'd wager less than 15 games I've bought and played on multiple systems. The most recent were Dark Souls 1 and 2 which I've had on 3 systems PS3, 360 and PS4.

Resident Evil 4 immediately springs to mind...I’d say about 5 times? A quintuple.

Very rarely, but I'll do it if a console game comes out on Steam that I loved.

After Ocarina, my other "mosts" are:

Borderlands (5)

Bioshock (5)

It's pretty rare for me to double dip on games (excluding full on remakes), but I've bought Skyrim, Minecraft, Mario 64 and Ocarina a few times each.

Sonic 2 - Master System, Megadrive, Sonic Mega Collection (Gamecube), Xbox 360 (XBLA), PSP (Sega Megadrive collection)
Disgaea - PS2, PSP and PC re-release
Persona 4 - PS2 (never played), PC remaster (basically the Vita version)
Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 - original boxed PC version, GoG and Open RCT2 version (free)
Grim Fandango - original release and Remaster

Almost forgot

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town - GBA and the recent retitled PC remaster (Story of Seasons: FoMT)

I have doubled dipped on quite a few Switch ports. I've already own them on Wii U or PS4, but the portability of the Switch sways me to buy another version/
