You should watch last week's, it's by far the best so far.

Really enjoyed the latest episode, my favourite of the season so far and the best episode of Doctor Who I've seen in ages. It had a strong premise and I found it very satisfying and smart for once.

Boom was also good, and the trailer for next week looks like Black Mirror, so I'm feeling good about the show right now!

It was! Once the premise was set up I was thinking of things Ruby should try, and to my surprise they pretty much all got addressed, like sending someone else over to talk to the figure, and then sending someone on the phone. I actually said to my partner "if it were me I think I'd contact unit" and then right on cue, unit appear. I appreciated the idea of getting on a plane or boat being mentioned (with a reasonable excuse for not being tried), and Ruby's use of the figure against the PM was, for once, logically consistent and well setup rather than the usual Doctor Who deus ex machina. The perception field being consistent with the Tardis too was neat, and linked in with yet another thing I'd thought of (positioning the figure in front of a car).

Yes the ending didn't really get explained, but I'd take that any day over a bad explanation - which is what we usually get!

I’d take any explanation over no explanation myself.

My issue wasn't with them not explaining the ending. I don't need to be spoonfed every little detail. And a bit of mystery with plenty of room for me to come up with my own explanation can be fun.

But there was nothing here.

What was the fairy circle? Who made it? Why did it make the Doctor vanish? Where did he go? Why did the Tardis lock Ruby out?

How did old lady Ruby go back in time (I assume as a ghost?)? Why didn't/couldn't she get closer than 73 yards? What was she saying to other people? How was the time loop broken/why couldn't ghost Ruby in the original timeline warn them not to step on the circle?

I hope I'm wrong and we get a bit more detail later on, but I suspect the answer to all of those is that Russell T Davies also has no idea.

Yeah the lack of any resolution or tie back from the conclusion to the events in the episode just destroyed it for me. Which is a shame as the story had huge promise.

The opening section, everything in Wales in particular but also pretty much all the way up to the UNIT encounter was incredibly compelling, after that it started to lose its drive sadly

Because he can't, there is no explanation.

Read this article this morning: https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/sci-fi/do ... explained/

Basically it's "LOL it all seemed cool so we don't need to explain it!"

I don't understand why Ruby needed an app to tell how close the woman was to Mad Jack when she can just use her eyes.

Especially when during the interview with Amol Rajan, they said that apps no longer exist.

A huge Dr Who fan from Glasgow managed to zoom in and enhance the quality of the mysterious figure that was following Ruby.

Next episode is supposed to be Black Mirror esc. I’ve never seen black mirror but I get the feeling this might be a little ambitious for RTD
