Born in Rwanda. Priti is going to be furious.

He's a great choice, he's brilliant in Sex Education.

I know nothing about him and sex education doesn't appeal to me, so I will just say I wish him luck and I'm going to tune in full of optimism and hope he gets the scripts and direction needed to knock it out of the park, I can't wait to see his doctor costume, if the TARDIS set and sonic change etc..

As he’s amazing in Sex Education, I’ll at least try giving Doctor Who another watch when he starts.

I'll be keen to see how he gets on. I think I remember his character in Sex Education being quite good as it wasn't a stereotype.

It's a big ask for quite a young actor at this stage with ratings on the floor. That's a lot of pressure, but with RTD on board, I think he will have a fair bit support.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new Doctor although my main concern is who the scriptwriter(s) are going to be. Maybe they've been announced? I'm outta the loop on Who these days. I really liked the cast in the past couple of seasons but the storylines just didn't gel with me.

Good choice. I feel really bad writing let Jodie down, I really hope this isn't the case with Ncuti. Here's hoping for the best.

Hope this guy will get better stories than the last two docs.

Haven't seen a series i've actually liked since Matt Smith was in it.

It’s definitely not been as good since RTD left it, fingers crossed it starts to improve again.

I liked Matt Smith but didn't like Amy Pond, I used to watch it despite her. I liked Capaldi but found his episodes a bit hit and miss. I liked Jodie but aside from a few episodes wasn't keen. I really think its a shame she got lumbered with such poor writing. And even worse, the anti-woke brigade points to her as being the reason for the bad ratings and reviews rather than the writing.

I’ve liked all the modern doctors but I feel they’ve all had their low points, Jodie more than most

Here's hoping we get back to a Strange New World's style weekly story rather than serialisation. All the best episodes of New Who have all been one-offs or a 2-parter at most.

The new guy seems like a great casting choice. TBH I always thought Jodie was brilliant; she was just given some terrible writing.

The one thing I hope they keep is Sasha Dhawan as The Master. He does the whole maniacal thing brilliantly.

Yeah each 'era' of New Who has had ups and downs. Capaldi had a right wobbly couple of seasons but I think was redeemed by his final run, sadly Jodie wasn't given that same saving.

I'm hopeful RTD and Ncuti can give us something with a bit more up than we've had recently. I'm a fan of plenty of what RTD did first time around but there's also some dross and really poor ideas in there that give me enough reason to remain cautious!

You mean The Weakest Link and the Anne-droid as cover for a Dalek plot?!

You know what, I've actually got something of a soft spot for that - it's ridiculous in the kind of way that bypasses my disgust!
