Capaldui was quite a good doctor but some if the stories he was given let him down. That said, David Tennant who was brilliant, suffered from the same problem at times, as did my fave doc Matt Smith.

To be honest I've not seen any Jodie Whittakers episodes, I'm sure she does a good job but I've heard that her scripts aren't up to scratch either.

I think the BBC need to hire some better writers.

Yeah, the issue isn't Whittaker herself for me, but the writing. I like her, just not as much as the previous Doctors, maybe if her stories weren't 95% pure shite that'd change

I've enjoyed Whittakers take on the Doctor but I think she's been let down with really lacklustre writing. It's a shame because with the right material I think she'd have had a great run as the Doctor.

Bit of a meh trailer tbh. Slightly concerned they seem to have announced a 3rd companion again? Maybe it wont be like that or its more of a guest role. I mean I cant help but feel he looks like they replaced Captain Jack-

Apparently this year might well be one big story which could be cool. Not sure I'd want that to be the norm though.

well it looked interesting but it seemed it was just attention grabbing which of course is the point of a teaser. though the claim the dr's biggest adventure yet feels like weve heard it every series.

Jodie Whittaker and Chris Chibnall to leave in 2022:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-57940451

Chibnall is currently writing and producing the 13th series of Doctor Who, which will air later this year. It will be followed by three specials the first of which will air on New Year's Day 2022, with another later in spring 2022.

Whittaker's final feature-length special will transmit in autumn 2022 as part of the BBC's Centenary celebrations.

Speculation will now turn to who Whittaker's replacement might be, as the show approaches its 60th anniversary in 2023.

Glad he's strawberry floated off before the 60th :toot:

Jodie hasn't been the problem, it's the crap writing/storylines that has made the show so unappealing.

The BBC need to think really carefully over Chibnall's replacement.

Hope Chibnall and Whitaker manage to redeem themselves in this final year then. I've not been a fan of the stories or writing for this era, Jodie has done her best with what she's had but it's hard to know how much more she could have done with better material

The BBC has confirmed that the pair will be replaced in the coming months, assuaging any fan fears that the series could be “rested” or cancelled after Whittaker and Chibnall’s departure.

“We will announce plans for the new generation of Doctor Who in due course – watch this space!” the BBC said.

Bear in mind that season 27 was already in planning when they axed the show back in the day so I wouldn't put it past them to say something like that and then still "rest" the show!

I’m with you more or less, I have enjoyed some episodes but overall it’s been a let down
