I presumed Moggy's post was a big thatsthejoke.gif?

Dunno how to feel about that one. It was spooky enough, the Cyberman's aesthetic was good, there was no characterisation, and the plot was utter gibberish. I don't think I liked it really.

Yeah, I was joking about the name of the monster because people get so sensitive about him being called Frankenstein.

I assumed it was, but I wanted to add that I read/heard that in a very technical sense the monster would be Frankenstein as Vicky F created him.

It was decent enough to start with but lost it's way quite quickly. I'm reminded of how bad Torchwood became every time I walk past the mess that is "Ianto's Shrine" in Cardiff bay. :dread:

The monster has a name, call him Frankenstein.

Technically the Dr who made it is Dr Frankenstein the monster doesn't have a name at least in the original book and filn.

I do believe that the Monster should also be known as Frankenstein as the sons take the names of their fathers in the place the book is set and as Frankenstein when created him believed him to be his son originally it would have taken his name also the monster believes himself to be the son of Frankenstein and names himself Adam. I believ his name is in his eyes, Adam Frankenstein.
Could be wrong.

There's probably a much better way this has been said somewhere else.

He doesn't name himself Adam, he merely uses the name Adam in a statement alluding to the fact that he was created by Dr Frankenstein. "I am your Adam" is just a flowery way of saying "You created me".

And yet Mary Shelley refers to him herself as Adam and the book was originally going to be titled Adam, supposedly.

I might give Torchwood another go soon. It rarely reached its potential but it had its moments. Also works really well as a drinking game. Aerial shot of Cardiff? Character standing on a tall building? They type really quickly to make stuff happen? Camera suddenly zooms in just a tiny bit? Then does it again? Then keeps doing it and you can no longer not see it? The answer is yes and you are now smashed.

I do need to say if you've not then you really MUST give Children of Earth (series 3) a watch. Its brilliant in no small part because of the mighty P-Cap. One of the few times the show really got its "grown up Doctor Who" concept right. Its got proper classic British Sci-Fi (like Quatermass) vibes to it. :datass:

Better drinking game would be to watch it and down a pint every minute of boredom, after episode one you'd be dead.

I barely saw Torchwood and can't remember much about the bits that I did. Will take a look at the iPlayer to check it out.

I started with Children of Earth and thought it was really good. Didn't go back to watch the previous 2 series though. Miracle Day wasn't great.
