I agree that was the intention, but it was very clumsily done. It didn't ring at all true that somebody who knows the Doctor regenerates and who has a black husband and mixed raced daughter would immediately comment like that.

Yeah, it was maybe a slightly clumsy line. I think it came from a good place, though, and - as this was first time the Doctor has taken the appearance of a person with black skin - it helped to get the message across that the Doctor can take any form. (As far as I know, anyway - I think that the Doctor could potentially regenerate as any form? I'm not a Who expert  ).

Ah so you’d place him on a pedestal as well?

Not quite a pedestal. Maybe a wee plinth.

The Giggle was RTD as strawberry float and I loved it. I look forward to Gatwa's era.

It definitely is. The whole whoniverse thing at the start of the episodes means they are planning exactly that.

As much as I'd love that, give Paul McGann a show too!

Its a full Length screen sized official Tom Baker DR WHO Scarf, I have always wanted one.... I purchased the suit jacket today myself cause it kind of gave me Tennant vibes.

Nice. I've got one of those as well (and also the red version from season 18), but I'm not tall enough to be able to pull off wearing it, so I have the half-length version as well.

I have seen the red one its very nice as well... Im 5'10 according to my last electronic height measurment so have to wrap it about a bit but then I think Baker did the same even though he must be around 6'2

Saw this a few weeks back and while it's speculation the idea is out there.

Watched it the other day and wasn't that impressed.
Toymaker built up as this amazing baddie and then they defeat him playing catch.
The German at the beginning was horrific
Bi-generation was weird, will wait to see how Ncuti gets on

you gotta appreciate the irony. when 10 says he doesn't want to go he goes. and then second time around he says he's fine with it this time and he gets to stay

I’ve only seen the first of the three new episodes, so I haven’t read the thread yet, but I now really want there to be an ep called The Giggle-Ord.

Just rewatched A Christmas Carol, I've said it before I'm sure, but strawberry float me that is just an exceptional hour of television

Easily, easily, the best of the DW Christmas episodes in my opinion. It's just so well executed - a perfect encapsulation of themes and structure, and the whole thing just flows beautifully.

Between the sublime Series 5, this Christmas special and the introduction of Sherlock it's got to put Moffat's 2010 into contention as one of the best years a creator has had on TV.

It's about to kick off! Hope it's good, hope Gatwa is good and I hope RTD reigns in the cringe a bit.
