Doctor Who- returns for series whatever it is 11/5/24 | The Grand Moff is back!

That was a brilliant episode. I was properly moved by Bradley Walsh at the end being forced to keep his seat.

Not an authority on Old Who at all but the bad guy's MO reminded me of the Time Meddler a little bit, I want to see him return later on.

Really good episode. Not sure why space alt-right man would care about black rights on Earth. Or was he from Earth? Either way he's coming back.

Bradley Walsh is a revelation. Who knew?

for a moment I thought they weren't going to be able to get the bus driver back and with him being a bus Driver and a white dude Graham would have to actually be the guy who drove the bus and got her arrested doing it under the guys name...

I really liked that episode. Well done. I think the cast were all good there, but echo the sentiments on Walsh.

From what I remember of the Time Meddler the actual meddler seemed more about having fun messing with history than having a hateful agenda.

I thought this, but thought it may be a bit too far for Graham to go, and that people knew who the Jimmy driver was and then things wouldn't change or have the same impact.

As for the Meddling Monk he was more in it for the fun and at times thought he was doing good. Like a really gentle laid back Master.

An absolutely brilliant episode. One of the best of new Who. And really showed how humans are far scarier and far more evil than any imaginary monsters.

He said that Rosa Parks was where things started to go wrong. He was from the far future and I assume Earth, his time travel device was similar/the same as Captain Jack’s. I guess obviously racism still exists in the far future and alt-right time travellers want to change things.

Yeah, he stood up to leave and a woman got on and sat where he'd been sitting, then the Doctor said he needed to stay.

Bradley Walsh is a revelation. Who knew?

I'm going to guess he's a future human, and he is definitely coming back. And Bradley Walsh is brilliant in this, got some real emotion out of me.

Easily the strongest episode of the series so far, it was a really insightful trip back in time that really pulled no punches with how it tackled racism and it really should be applauded that is tackled it. But it just didn't feel like Doctor Who to me, but again it was a dam good episode.

Also Bradley Walsh is the best thing in this new era of Who.

Very powerful and well done. Are we sure this from the same person who did Cyberwoman?

Best part - the Doctor (or companions) didn't inspire the historical figure, or tee them up/encourage them. They were just observers to Rosa.

I didn't twig that he was the actual person that caused her to get up to be honest, they really could have done with more shots from the front of the bus to show just how busy it was rather than having Jodie Whitaker glancing round and saying how many seats there were.

I know the Time Meddler was more about having a laugh, but his Wiki page says he did also try to mould history for the "better" - he is trying to change the entire course of British history in the first story: link. You could also argue that this new villain truly believes he is working for the good of mankind, even if he is attempting something abhorrent.

The bad guy in this is quite playful when he talks about what got him put in the Stormcage, so perhaps it was a prank gone wrong and he got radicalised when he was inside. I don't necessarily think he is the Time Meddler (although he knows what a TARDIS is so could be related to the Time Lords in some way). It's just a little theory I came away with from a single watch of the episode.

Wonderful episode, one of the best ever. Great timing with the Ryanair incident as well.

It was good and I learnt some history I didn't know about so that's cool. And a genuine good explanation for why the villain didn't just shoot them all dead! A lot of the rest was still slightly unbelievable but hey-ho

Looking forward to seeing how they get bus driving to be a relevant occupation in literally every episode of this series

i echo the sentiment that the villain should of had a better motivation than just a throw away line of "im a space future racist" but other than that i enjoyed it greatly

no the monk defiantly wanted to severely change human history for the better under his guidance at least in his first story

Walsh/Graham is rocketing up the companion list that's for sure.

Will he reach top tier of Donna and Rory? Hope so!

They blates cribbed that from Blakes 7.

Only downside is that by having Ryan just get rid of him (and not have the Doctor tell him off) is that it the whole thing could have been stopped way earlier if she had just done the same.

I think that's a genuine character flaw in the doctor - she is too curious to just end something without finding out what is actually going on.

Being a racist is enough of a reason for a lot of actions in this world. It's not a far stretch that a racist from the 72nd century would come back just to stop one little moment.
