I'm going to watch this but to be honest I don't expect it to be anything other than a 6 or 7/10 and with a giant reset at the end rending the whole thing pointless.

I enjoyed it.

Cool to see the actor from An Adventure in Space and Time returning to Who too.

Felt really indifferent to it all. Might have to rewatch it and try harder to engage with it. Despite stuff happening it felt so slow. But it seemed to be full of Chibbernisms. Way too much Sonic (does it really need to be used to shut the plane door from the inside?) lights flickering for no reason. Maybe part 2 will sort that out.

As for the Master. At first I thought it was cool. Then he got out the matchbox and I was super happy. Then he laughed and clapped like Simm on suger and I was less keen.

Was a waste of Fry in the end. :? :( Bond gags didn't do anything for me.

it was a good story but the spy stuff made me cringe
feels like the story would have worked the same with our spies, like it could have easily been a unit story, but chibnal just loves bond a little too much. and i do not like that guy as the master so far, you could tell he was gonna be bad guy after a bit, but something about it just felt like bad acting. he was good as the other character but for some reason when he switched to the master he lost it. i hope he picks up

Thought it was boring shite up until the reveal of The Master. Picked up a bit then just before the episode ended.

I liked it even more the second time, good start to the new series for me. I think the first time around as soon as the Master reveal happened I'd stopped paying attention as I was totally and utterly surprised

Would have loved more Stephen Fry though!

Not sure what to think of the Master. The episode for sure picked up when that happened but I can't shake the feeling that I was watching someone do an impression of John Simm. Which makes sense because it's the same character, and it was a good impression, but still?

I liked it overall tbh. And while I see Matt saying about the SS being used it was nice that part from the plane it didn't really work anywhere else.

Eh.

Yeah the actor was definitely doing a John Simm impression. I quite liked it though, it certainly livened up an otherwise dull episode.

I did laugh when Stephen Fry said that MI6 (or was it MI5?) doesn’t acknowledge the existence of aliens and they leave that for UNIT. In the Doctor Who world, what is the strawberry floating point of MI6 then? Everything is strawberry floating aliens.

I thought it was ok but the bike section was bloody stupid.

Obviously the gang aren't all going to kick the bucket in a plane crash but it would certainly be a change of pace for Who if they did.
