Agree with most of this-

Although disagree about the start of last series being good.

If part 1 mostly bored me then that was the complete opposite. I'm not sure about the conclusion (it was getting very RTD) and indeed quite why humans should become hardrives beyond some chaos. Not helped by the lack of getting to grips with the bloom light aliens. Also the laser shoes were strawberry floating dreadful. :fp: However free of the craptastic Bond parody it was suddenly, exciting. No explanation as to why the lights flickering was such an important thing in ep 1. Almost certainly Chibbers best episode as show runner.

Sacha Dhawan was really good I thought and it brought out the best in Whittaker. Not since The Witchfinders have I really felt 13 had the weight of the Doctor. I'm unsure about the series arc but lets see how it goes. Felt like it was retreading old ground. Effective though.

The fam sadly continue to be rather non-descript. At least occasionally amusing.

over all good episode i thought certainly better than part one

still the spy stuff felt greatly diminished making the name spyfall seem a little pointless. the master was better this time around without any of the odd stuff he did at the end of the last one, still a couple of cringy things but a much better performance. having him dress as a nazi felt a little on the nose but its something i could see the ainsley master doing. lazy shoes felt a little to daft but im rarely a fan of spy stuff. i dont like that they seem to have gone back to "last of the time lords" feels like each head writer is trying to undo what their predecessor did. im not sure about this the beginings of time lord society being a lie sounds a little like the cartmel master plan which i really didnt like. the fan theories about omega returning will probably increase.

felt the doctor was the best part, as usual, and i did enjoy some of the banter between the companions but i do feel they need a little bit more character development

I can't remember who said it, but whomever pointed out that their dialogue could be interchanged (other than Graham saying Doc) and you wouldn't notice was bang on the nose.

Better than most of last season, but still problematic. The plots are still overstuffed and nonsense, and the constant recapping of what's just happened (or is currently happening on screen) is really getting annoying.

Possibly me from the chap with the tweetnotes I posted above. I remember chatting about how after a whole series it was like Yaz and Graham had never spoken. I did laugh when the Doctor did the video saying Graham shouldn't panic. Because he is always the one that panics right? :| Wondering if Chibbers has ever heard of Trait Theory.

It was alright, nothing really special. The Master was easily the best thing about it, but those Ghost things was really underused and Lenny Henry just disappeared.

I love that we had seasons of jumping through enforced hoops to earn bringing back Galifrey and the timelords only for it to be wiped in one sentence. Banging.

Uh, not the Judoon. The answer to the question nobody wanted answered: can we come up with something worse than the Sontarans

After being bored for most of the first part, I really enjoyed the second part. I like the new Master and it was fun seeing some historical characters (Babbage, Lovelace and Khan).

The laser shoe bollocks with the “fam” was strawberry floating awful though.

The Doctor dies every few years. ;)

The episode aired days ago, if people haven’t seen it then they ought to watch it before coming into the thread.
