Went in a charity shop after work the other day. I got 8 CD Big Finish Audio books for 7quid in total. Some are based on the War Doctor and others are based on the 6th and 7th Doctor with River Song, I am planning to turn them into mp3 files and bang them on my phone to listen to on the way to and from work. Saying that though I planned on doing the same with all the free ones and never got round to it.

Christopher Eccleston said: “After 15 years it will be exciting to revisit the Ninth Doctor's world, bringing back to life a character I love playing.”

Big Finish’s Chairman, Jason Haigh-Ellery said: “I first talked to Christopher about returning to the role of the Doctor at a fan convention in February this year. Christopher said he was enjoying meeting the fans and was pleased that his Doctor was remembered so fondly. I am so pleased that Christopher has decided to return to the role with us – and I'm excited to welcome him to the Big Finish family as we discover the new adventures of the Ninth Doctor.”

Big Finish’s Creative Director, Nicholas Briggs, added: “Working with Chris was a very special time for me. The beginning of my Doctor Who TV career. So, writing for and directing him feels incredibly exciting. He’s such a powerful performer and it’ll be amazing to work with him again.”

I went back to the charity shop I got the big finish stuff from and got even more including the Time War part one and part 2 four CD sets with Paul Mcgann. In total I've spent about £25 there and got about £250 worth of big finish stuff proper buzzing.

Fantastic news about Ecclestone, you could definitely sense a softening in his views over the last few years but I still didn't think we would actually see him actively step back into the role!

I have been listening to Big Finish stuff on the way to and from work. I have listened to 8 Paul Mcgann time war ones, then a multi doctor one Sirens of Time followed by a Colin Baker one and now I'm on a second Colin Baker one.

Both Paul Mcgann and Colin Baker seem to really get into the stories and do some fantastic work.

I have been listening to a few Peter Davidson audios and while I have enjoyed them I haven't enjoyed them anywhere as much as the Colin Baker or Paul Mcgann ones, I think if I keep listening to more different audios I will probably alter my list of best to worst Doctors.

Davison has loads of great audios with Big Finish but I do think due to the way 6 and 8 were handled originally it has allowed BF to do a lot more with them. Check out the Butcher of Brisbane.

Yeah the fact 6 and 8 never got enough TV time does kind of make you appreciate the audio more and it does mean there are things they didn't get to do and enemies they didn't get to face on TV... but I also think they have this kind of joy at getting more time as the Doctor which seems to come across in there performances but maybe its just me.
