I mean that was..... ok? Yeah like it wasn't totally dreadful but it was also completely forgettable to? I'm finding it so hard to judge these eps now because I just feel so meh about this run.
It had some ideas but seemed so by the numbers and then the characters just are there and the dialogue so flat and I dunno. Jack blabs on about no one leaving the Doctor through choice and then it ends with people leaving her through choice and it doesn't even seem self aware of it. It's just so...... Huh.
I kinda liked it. It wasn't brilliant or anything but it was watchable.
I like Jodie as the Doctor, she deserves a better writer/showrunner. I'm not a big fan of any of "The Fam" (worst companions since Amy Pond), seeing Graham and Ryan leave isn't a big loss for me. I'm hoping only having two companions might make for a better balance
For me, as with much of the past two series, it reached a level of *okay*. There were some fun moments but also dull and really quite silly ones. I'm repeating past criticism here but whilst the episode clearly had some big money spent on it - and the lighting, colouring and effects where very good - the storyline was so mediocre; I definitely wouldn't sit down and watch it again as I would with previous series.
The Daleks were, in my opinion, too large in number - obviously using up that high effects budget - with little impact on the story nor driving up feeling; the episode was a clever technical exhibition but with little soul.
And, with two of the crew now gone, I'm not sure where things will go from here. I hate to suggest it, but it will probably just meander along, remaining "okay".
I have to mention that the staging, lighting and effects were just *fabulous* in 4K HDR, though; these elements are new to me and really impress, particularly HDR.
it was ok, had its problems but alas what can you do. the whole prison felt resolved so quickly it felt a little pointless. i kinda of liked how graham and ryan left feels like theyve over done it with the extremely dramatic exits. although i probably wont missed them sure graham was kinda fun but ryan was just so boring. though it was nice that it ended the way it began for them. jack was fun and i liked the nod to gwen. on bishop, as dan, is gonna be interesting. i loved the last two comedian companions we got so hopefully he'll be a good laugh. daleks getting trapped on a tardis was pretty cool, although that "i dont have to kill him" bit felt daft. sure a dalek would think it did have to kill him. was nice to have some cameos of monsters from all the modern showrunners. though it says something that chibnall chose one of his lamest monsters. this whole existential crisis over the timeless child feels a bit uninspired. im mean we go through this almost every regeneration. "i dont know who i am anymore. yes i do im the doctor!" come on something a little different Also probably should have cut the HP reference. You can tell it was written a while ago
This may be old news and stuff that you folks knew ages ago, but I hadn't known... a new actor arrives!
Kinda surprised at the choice but looking forward to seeing him in the series. As many people here appear to say, though, it's the stories and script that need improving rather than the actors!

I've never seen him act so no idea if he'll be any good.
