I keep a bag of this in the freezer at all times usually.

One scoop in the pan before cooking most things, and it saves A) wasting celery/carrot and B) finely dicing Celery/carrot.

As in, they may traditionally have various simple tomato sauce recipes for pasta, but the 'throw a bunch of random stuff in with some tomatoes and mince and claim to do a good spagbol' was mostly a Western invention.

Spaghetti Bolognese isn't a "proper" Italian dish as the ragu is traditionally with tagliatelle rather than spaghetti, though you can certainly find it in tourist places. I assume the use of spaghetti in the toned down UK version was because there was probably only maceroni, penne, and spaghetti available back in the day and it just stuck. It's superior with tagliatelle though.

The UK version is basically just a generic minced meat ragu, that is heavy on the tomato sauce, which the actual ragu alla Bolognese isn't. It is a bit silly that it carries the Bolognese name despite having only minor similarities.

Nah it's fine to enjoy it.
Just not when I did it multiple times a day, for 6/7 years in a row. Starts to feel like groundhog Day

Yeah the prep is half the fun! Although of course it does take time which isn't always in plentiful supply.

If someone gave me celery as a gift I'd I'd put a price on their head and send out notices to local hitmen.

Raw celery is absolute rank. Weirdly, when cooked, it tastes of very little. I'd rather pad a stew out with something else though. The smell of the stuff is horrid.

I guess when you're stating the obvious (like 'no celery') there's less incentive to talk about it.

Tell me you're from a middle class household without saying you're from a middle class household:

I don't personally use celery, but have no issue with others doing so. I certainly wouldn't shoot, stab or run over someone that served me bolognese with celery in it.
