We have a logo but no thread so here we go.

Looking forward to getting this. I know the price is a sticking point for some people, which I do understand, but for me, £40 is fine for a first party Nintendo title I haven't played before. Really enjoyed Returns (on the 3DS as I never owned a Wii) but never got round to TF on the Wii U.

I hadn't realised this was out so soon. As one who skipped the Wii U, I'll happily pay up for this.

I'll pick this up when it's on sale.

So, never.

Already got it on Wii U and stopped playing halfway through, wouldn't mind getting it on Switch but not at £40.
I'll wait a few years till it eventually arrives on the Nintendo Selects range for Switch.

I’ll pick it up when I’ve finished with God of War.

No trailer or gameplay preview videos in the OP? Worst thread ever.

Loving the logo :toot:

Umming and ahhing over when to get this, I adored it on Wii U but not sure if I'll pick it up asap. Hoping to get it digitally for reasonably cheap

I'll buy it at some point to play either this weekend or next. I didn't have a Wii U, so it'll be like a brand new game for me.

Yep.

Honestly I'm tempted to play it on Wii U again and just join in and pretend I've got it new. :shifty:

Is it really that good?
I never actually finished DKCR, not because I thought it was particularly bad, but I didn't think especially highly of it either

I may do the same... and it will seem new because I've never played it before :toot: .

I'm also tempted to dig out my Wii U copy. I loved DKCR and I enjoyed what I played of this one, but I don't think I got all that far.

I got 3 Worlds in on the Wii U version and couldn't stomach the painful load times. I'm day one for this if the load times are greatly improved!

They are, Miguel! Check out Digital Foundry's analysis - the loading times check starts at 4:24.

It's a bit more accessible, I think. But it retains the challenge if you want it. It has some wonderful level design, physics and an amazing soundtrack.

It's a real solid game for sure, and yeah the soundtrack is awesome, what you'd expect from David Wise. I loved it, though was disappointed it was easier than Returns. Funky mode disappointingly looks like it's just an Easy Mode for the game as well. Still a little challenging in places though. I remember either Dixie or Cranky were OP. I think it was Dixie. Diddy literally serves no purpose in this game iirc.

Edit: Just looked at Metacritic. 86 is probably a fair score for this game. I always enjoy looking at the worst reviews; someone gave it 2.5 stars out of 5. One of their opening points about the game is how you can't change difficulty modes at any time, i.e. if you get stuck on a level (an unfair level I might add), you can't just switch to Funky Kong. And subsequently if a level is too easy with Funky, you can't switch to regular mode for more of a challenge.

Bad reviews on good games are strawberry floating hilarious.

I've seen comments suggesting Funky Mode adds a new angle to speed runs, if that's your thing. Not really mine, but I imagine that will have appeal for some.

Me too. I found it odd playing a platformer without a run button, so consequently didn't get that far.

Maybe someone more popular than me can co-ordinate a GRcade playthrough? :D
