Would retailers implementing something as simple as recaptcha on highly sought items stop the bots from working, and if so why hasn’t it been implemented?

It's weird how it was easier to get a PS5 before release (by securing a pre-order) than it has been to get one since release.

Depends how the bots are actually working and how the site is setup I guess, but it feels like there are definitely technical steps that could be taken to alleviate the situation to a certain extent.

PS5 has been shipped from GAME early, should have it by the weekend :wub:

At this rate I think you are looking at June or July or even late summer before you can pick one up freely. It probably doesn't help with so many people working from home with time to keep an eye on when stock drops. I will never pay scalpers prices and happy to stick with my Pro and Series X in the meantime

I'm barely at the point where I think it's worth paying RRP for it, I just cannot fathom the mindset of people who are prepared to pay the scalper prices on eBay

Another thought on the RRP's. I wonder if Sony and Microsoft are now kicking themselves with not pricing the new machines at £500+ seeing as the demand is so huge and that some people are willing to pay the scalpers prices. It seems really strange now as last year with both companies unwilling to reveal the prices until the last minute.

This is a good point. I reckon in hindsight they could have priced them at 499 or even 549. People would have complained, but clearly people would still pay it, especially in a pandemic.

I had to buy a Creative BT-W3 bluetooth thingamabob and away they go.
They also allow BT headphones to work on Switch as well.

They send you an email with a link to the consoles. They an only be accessed through the link they send you.

Just noticed a small patch on the left backside of my controller where the tiny shapes have worn down to a completely smooth surface.
