That’s a great feature when the devs use it.

The hint videos have been really handy for bits in Demon's Souls I've forgotten. There was one hint video that was for EXACTLY the bit I was stuck at.

I asked about the videos in the DS thread but got no replys directly relating to my question. Maybe you could help answer my queury.:

I don’t like having to use YT vids etc, as finding the right part stresses me out. Do the ones in this give good contextual info on where to go at any time?
I saw them briefly on Giant Bomb, where they were very critical, but I’m not sure if they were judging them on that basis (ie guidance rather than combat tips).

Interested in your take on this.

I haven’t played much yet but the vids I’ve seen are more around “watch out for these enemies” and “here’s how to approach this encounter”. But it being right at the beginning it makes sense that it would be just covering the basics. The first stage is pretty linear.

The Astrobot videos are legitimately great, though, for finding the collectibles. They know the context of what ones you got already so you only see hints for what you need, and for the harder to find ones they’ll often not go the whole way to show you exactly where the collectible is and how to get it, but just show you “there’s a hidden path or ledge if you look over here”.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, it's them working in context that would be massive for me. I hate the feeling of not knowing (roughly) what to do next in a game, so if this becomes a well refined feature it would be huge to me. Obviously its only going to be able to do this to an extent, but if it can help you on the critical path it would be invaluble.

They're just short clips of 15 seconds or so with little hints, not really explicitly telling you where to go but enough info to nudge you in the right direction.

Thanks. So they literally may hint at where to go next? Like perhaps showing something visually unique as a reference? I have looked on youtube to try and find examples of them, but i could not find a single one.

I used the cards yesterday. On my second use I stopped the clip after it showed me the start of the area I needed to be in. So whether it shows the whole thing, or not need not be an issue.
Showing you how the cards worked in that session would need off-screen recording as PS5 doesn't record UI.

The main one that helped me was something about paying closer attention to stairways with a short video of the section of the area I was in.

Is Dead Rising 4 worth £8.99 if I loved the first two and really enjoyed the third? I think the first PS+ collection game I'm going to play though will be Days Gone so perhaps that'll do me for zombies.

Well worth it. It's like 3 but it's set at Christmas. Excellent fun and a lot to do. Only negative I'd say is they removed the level 1,2,3 weapon crafting system. So you can't use a mega horn to make a super mega horn to make a super huge mega horn. But the stuff you can craft is fun and the amount of enemies on screen is staggering.

I might re intall it for Christmas themed carnage.

Wish my image sig would work

Thank you both. I did wonder if it was a capture issue. That sounds pretty cool.

I’m surprised the Demon’s Souls videos don’t just consist of a Rickroll overlaid with “git gud”.

I'm still not convinced that they arent exactly that, and all the replys to my question have been to lull me in to a false sense of security. That would be hillarious in fairness...

I would say it’s the worst DR game in my eyes (haven’t played DR3.) I loved the first two plus the one where they replaced Chuck with Frank.

Days Gone is a fantastic game. I enjoyed it despite the dialogue being a bit awful.

Will that be a second play through of DG?

You are both in for a treat, it's a slow starter, but once you start unlocking the better weapons and start fighting the hordes, it's great.
