I was reading on Eurogamer that when they are transferring games to external and back they have to sit and look at a bar...as in, you can't do it in the background, I'm gonna presume this was not a thing on PS4 so it's odd that it's regressed.

I do that on my Series X anyway (well, leave it on the screen and do something else while it finishes), in my head it’ll do it quicker if I’m not getting the console to do other stuff as well

I can understand that on downloads, but transferring stuff between hard drives has no effect if you're playing a game while it does it in background.

Is there a thread for Returnal? I don't think I'll be getting it this month but I'm keen to see what others think of it.

Returnal looked quite promising until they started showing gameplay at which point I just lost interest.

 Completely the opposite for me. Housemarque know how to make shooters.

Nope. You should make one.

I have literally no idea who Housemarque are or what they have worked on before!

I think it just looked very "generic 3rd person shooter" when the gameplay clips started to drop. It may very well play amazingly though!

They make twin stick shooters and that Resogun game on PS4, afaik this is the biggest game they've made in budget terms.

It could be great and I thought it looked meh, but so does Outriders and that's surprisingly good as in, it plays far better than you'd think it does.

On PS3 they were famouse for Super Stardust HD. One PS4 they made the excellent Resogun and Nex Machina:

If you have access to a PS4 or 5 then I highly recommend Resogun. (It had a free co-op update and a v reasonably priced paid expansion which added new shooter modes.)

They also created Dead Nation, Alienation and Matterfall.

If Neir wasn't out this month I would probably be looking to get that. I have the money but if I still want it once ive completed current games it might have dropped or i'll pick up a second hand copy.

I was a big fan of the original Super Stardust back on the Amiga and have heard good things about the HD version from back in the PS3 days but never got to play it. Same with Resogun, it seems to be well regarded

Demolition mode in Resogun is crazy good fun. (You can't shoot as in a normal shoot 'em up, but instead you have a directional charge ability which pings a demolition ball about the map.)

I know, just one of those things I like to let finish before cracking on elsewhere

I'll wait for inevitable upgraded PS5 release of Replicant.

Loved Automata but I have a itch for something more visually visceral and shoot-bangy gameplay.

The gameplay clips I have seen make it look like a TPS crossed with bullet hell which doesn't seem very generic!
