About the price that was expected, not really sure what people expect them to do other than postpone launching the console.

I'm still not sure what and when I'm going to pick up next gen.

Plenty people will remain well off enough for this - and the XSeX - to sell out several times over at launch.

I am not one of them.

I’m sure many people will also trade in or sell their old consoles so that’ll bring the price down.

That or time to get the old Great Universal catalogue out (or whatever today’s equivalent is...Very, I guess). Small monthly instalments so your new console costs £29,000. :datass:

The closest thing to a silver lining of the coronavirus pandemic for me has been BrightHouse going to the wall. Obviously that's a trade-off no one would want, but I am glad they went out of business.

As for PS5 launch price...

I'll buy it on launch if it has good launch software. If it's so-so, like PS4's was, then I'll happily wait until it does.

That's sort of my thinking. Even if the software is good it's unlikely to be taking advantage of the new hardware and likely playable on the old.

A cross-gen Assassin's Creed is a dead cert. Surely Sony will have at least one high-profile exclusive at launch, the company has to have something to create excitement for the new console beyond the hardware.

+ BrightHouse definitely exploited the vulnerable.

Let me rephrase: I'll buy a PS5 on launch if it has exceptional software on and around launch. I'll be giving it a miss if we get games that are competent but uninspired, like Killzone Shadow Fall.

Everyone jot down a Random Tuesday in their planners.

I'm going with... May 19th.

Sony will wait and say "It's on sale tomorrow!".

It'll be epic.

Sony's Heatsink Patent for the PS5 is Public Now. - Apparently it shows that the PCB will have holes with a heat transferring material in them, and the heatsink on the reverse side of the board. Some think this design is unnecessarily complex and may point to a small form factor console.

They should have gone with a full liquid immersion.

Sony are noobs.

Just watch it be another completely featureless black cube of plastic. Boo, I say. Boooo!

I still think that sticking to the plans to launch this year is madness.

There'll be at least 10 people in the UK and US who still have jobs by November so I don't see a problem.

£299 + Spiderman 2 + God of War 2 + PS4 backwards compatibility with enhanced graphics please.

Never gonna happen. I'd be surprised if it's even as low as £450 without a game.

PS5 will be £450.
They may also do a £550 bundle with an extra fancy pants 1tb nvme card.

The real question now is will Sony respond if Microsoft go with an S model.

I don't think they will and I think Microsoft launching with a two tiered console approach is going to make things very interesting competition wise.
