Just bought a PS5 on shopto. been a mad couple of days trying to get orders with restocks so I'm glad the hunt is finally over. I thought I'd failed as I had a transaction rejected by my bank due to a billing details discrepancy at 6pm and was close to giving up lol.

It came with Spiderman (which I wanted anyway), an extra controller, and The Pathless (?) for £600 so not too bad. Definitely worth it to stop checking the sites obsessively.

I didn't get a PS4 so the plan is to catch up with the back catalogue until some of the next gen exclusives start coming out

Pathless is by the devs who did Abzu. A decent/average game.

You should definitely get PS+ for the Collection. And if they don't add Ghost of Tsushima to it by the time you're done catching up, then get around to getting that as well. (It's arguably the best exclusive on the PS4.)

Cheers! I've had a look at PS+ and at least three of the games I definitely wanted to play (Ratchet & Clank, Infamous, Uncharted) so that seems like a no brainer!

Ghost of Tsushima sounds cool but I'm not sure it's really my thing - is it sort of like Breath of the Wild? (I didn't vibe too much with that, which is why I'm a bit apprehensive)

Thus game has completely passed me by, but we've started watching kingdom on Netflix and u write like the look of the setting. Pedz was raving about it on the twitchcast too.

There's also plenty areas which look less pretty but are still full of atmosphere.

And it also has a class based online co-op MP. (2 and 4 player.)

It does look great. Any word on a ps5 version or update?

It looks very impressive, is it a game anyone could get into (if they enjoy games like Assassins Creed) or is it aimed more at Japanophiles?

Not like Spider-Man, no. But you do get locked 60 fps on both modes and blistering load speeds.

It has a slight learning curve at first (there's stand-off gameplay where you challenge an initial batch of enemies to a duel, and you also need to get used to there not being a lock-on feature. I found the lack of lock-on to be a non-issue - it works brilliantly) but I managed to quickly get to grips with it and enjoy myself. The other gameplay elements most people will be very used to. It also has really helpful but non-intrusive guide system to take you missions and collectables.
