MS having some fun with this, evidently...

Considering how many new features the PS5 pad is supposed to have in new games, Sony only really had two options: make all PS5 games incompatible as they’ve done or rely on Ape Escape-esque notifications across box art (Ape Escape was only compatible with the analogue and dual shock controller). I’m sure in some games (particularly multiformat) the PS5 controller features either won’t be used or could be disabled for those using a PS4 pad but then that seems unnecessarily convoluted to me.

PS4 Dual Shocks working with PS4 games is something that is really important in the first couple of years of the PS5’s life (unless friends remember to bring over their controllers, I guess) but as we go along people will start migrating over to the Dual Sense.

I don't see why they need to blanket refuse to support the PS4's pad, except for the reason of being stubborn and wanting people to spend money. The only changes I can find between the pads are enhancements (haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, mic) rather than completely new things. I bet you could still allow people to play PS5 games with the PS4 pad and there would be minimal difference to the user's experience.

I bet they're getting Thursday's show mixed up with a non-existent announcement :fp: You know because, technically speaking, it will be about PS5. (PS5 indie games.)

It’s not a Blu-ray Disc drive, either.

A 4K Ultra HD capable drive is a Blu-ray player.

God, has there ever been a more iconic or perfectly matched song linked to a video game. A moment emblazoned in my mind for a lifetime. Gran Turismo at its absolute peak powers and a strong case for it going downhill ever since...

Lose control by ash was absolutely perfect in the first gran turismo.

Viper gts, standing start, wheelspinning down the start finish straight with that blasting out :datass:

I liked that you could customise the tracks it used GT3, I think for a lot of the time I just had it giving me the three Feeder tracks on repeat

I remember the very very first time my mates came round and played GT at my (parents) house with me. The Tie Fighter sample at the beginning of Lose Control played and one of my mates was trying to work out what the hell was overtaking him :fp:

That song reminds me of when the PS2 was launched, my best friend got one with GT3. Going over to his house and seeing GT3 for the first time, that gooseberry fool looked strawberry floating real.

I remember picking this bundle up from Argos whilst i was at college (and having to get a credit agreement with them. I was paying for that PS2 for about 8 years and it must have ended up costing upwards of a grand. Woth it though 8-) ).

When i had mates round to play it they seemed more interested in the rotatable logo though....

I need to get better mates :x

3 is actually the last Gran Turismo game I played. Nearly 20 years ago now!

4 gets a bit of flack but it was the last one I truly enjoyed. The rest are so strawberry floating boring. GT sport is like playing a PowerPoint presentation compared to stuff like assetto Corsa competitzione.

It was the intro to the original GT that's burned in my memory. I was in my first year at Uni, and a group of us huddled round the PS when I came back from the shop. I'd got the sound running though my stereo, and we cranked it right up. I was right into the Manics at the time, but didn't clock what song it was a remix of until the vocals kicked in @1.50

Also, absolutely no doubt this game this game influenced my taste in cars. Went on to own two MR2s (that yellow one sticking its back end out at 1:27 :datass: :datass: :datass: ).

Felt like a life-changing moment. strawberry float, I wish I was 19 again.
