Nah, reckon I and most other folk should try their luck again in March - and even then, that may seem a little too optimistic. Next summer perhaps? Who the strawberry float knows and at this point, who gives a gooseberry fool. Twats are gonna be twats and there's nothing that can be done about it.

How many on here have a guaranteed day 1 pre order?

I'm not sure about the credibility of the guarantee, but Argos says it's coming on release day.

I managed to get mine with Game the night they opened pre-orders (So before the clusterfuck) which is hopefully early enough. But I haven't had it guaranteed.

Smyths have told me nothing since I preordered, but they never do. Same for when I preordered the Switch. Thought I was much too late but they emailed me the day before and I ended up picking it up at the midnight launch.

I got this order in within minutes of them opening and went for collection so it was based on store-allocated stock. I saw preorders disappear throughout the night for collection at other shops but I was so early I was able to order the digital version, cancel it, order the disc version for delivery, cancel it, and finally order the disc version for collection

ao.com haven't updated me to say I don't have one, and they took my money. They also said I can't cancel the preorder because it went straight to the courier (DPD).

Hope you paid by credit card or PayPal. That way you’re protected.

The email GAME sent when I first
Pre-ordered the PS5 (the day they went live) said it was scheduled for release day. When you log in to your order page online though it doesn’t mention a date anywhere from what I can see.

I got my pre order from Amazon UK. So should be ok for release day. Just ordered my games for release at The Game Collection. Fingers crossed it's all a smooth launch.

I've also pre--ordered with GAME, and I recently had an email from them about the release date for games and accessories changing. In the email they confirmed that my order should be shipped in time for release day.

Ah, I have the bundle with the Miles Morales game pre-ordered so that's probably why I got the email, I guess if you've only got the console on order they won't have sent anything out.

Anyone who ordered a PS5 with Game Collection check your emails. They just sent me a £15 off code for Cyberpunk so got it for £30! Going to put it away until the next gen patch is out but still a great deal.

Console with Smyths Toys, accessories with Amazon, games with Argos and Very.

Oh, yeah, my console and controller dock is with Smyths for collection, but the spare controller and headset are with Game for delivery and the games are with TheGameCollection for delivery.

I’d probably ended up cancelling the games and switching to Smyths for them too to just be sure I don’t end up with a console and nothing to play on it (like I was buying an Xbox Series X, eyyyyyyooooo), but with them shipping a week earlier I think I’m safe.
