The charger port on my DS4 lasted about 2 days before it went dodgy.

It’d be nice if I could connect Bluetooth headphones to the console.

Isn't this a lag issue with Bluetooth?

Sony have published on the PlayStation blog details on which PS4 peripherals are compatible with PS5.

Which existing PS4 peripherals/accessories will work on PS5?

Specialty peripherals, such as officially licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks, and flight sticks, will work with PS5 games and supported PS4 games.
The Platinum and Gold Wireless Headsets, as well as third-party headsets that connect via USB port or audio jack, will work on PS5 (the headset companion app is not compatible with PS5).
The DualShock 4 wireless controller and PlayStation officially licensed third-party gamepad controllers will work with supported PS4 games.
Both the PS Move Motion Controllers and the PlayStation VR Aim Controller will work with supported PS VR games on PS5.
Please note, not all PlayStation officially licensed or third-party peripherals/accessories may work on PS5. We recommend checking with the manufacturer to confirm whether a product will work on PS5 and specific titles.

Will DualShock 4 work with PS5 games?

No, we believe that PS5 games should take advantage of the new capabilities and features we’re bringing to the platform, including the features of DualSense wireless controller.

Is the PlayStation Camera for PS4 compatible with PS5?

Yes, PlayStation Camera will work with PS5 for playing supported PS VR games. It will require a PlayStation Camera adaptor that will be provided at no additional cost to PS VR users. More details on how to get the adaptor will be announced at a later date.

9pm BST.

It’s been a while… but State of Play returns this Thursday with a focus on third-party-published games coming to PS4 and PS VR. We’ll have a few PS5 game updates on third-party and indie titles you last saw in June’s PS5 showcase.

The episode is weighing in at 40+ minutes(!). We’ve got a great lineup in store featuring plenty of new gameplay footage and other game updates. Can’t wait to hear what you think!

And just to be super clear — there will be no PlayStation Studios updates in Thursday’s episode. There won’t be any updates around hardware, business, preorders, or dates either. On Thursday, our focus is squarely on showcasing some cool upcoming games coming to the broader PlayStation ecosystem. Should be fun!

What a surprise there still won’t be a price

Will this endless game of chicken ever end? Tune in at the next Xbox event to find out!

Both consoles clearly have a very high price, and neither wants to blink first as they want to charge as much as possible. If ps5 is announced at £700, Xbox will just say £499. Likewise if it's the other way around, both are desperate for that large headline grabbing undercut.

A lot of great news there, especially this:

officially licensed racing wheels

Would have been EPIC BULLSHIT had these very expensive peripherals not worked.

I think it'll be £499. I don't think either will go above £500.

It’s very good that expensive accessories such as wheels will work, I wasn’t best pleased in the PS3 to PS4 transition when it became evident that my wheel wouldn't be supported going forward.

I'm thinking £399.99 for the Digital and £499.99 for the Drive. They've got digital owners by the balls when it comes to PSN, so they can afford to make a hefty loss when they're going to be selling games at 60 quid or more. If they do what Microsoft did with the S and only knock the cost price of the drive off (about 30 quid, apparently) it just looks like the poorer value option.

I think you’re right about a £100 difference but more £450 and £350.

I think Series X will probably be around £450 as well, though, maybe slightly more and Sony are desperate to undercut them by £50.

I find it hilarious that Nintendo and now Sony have to use their announcements for announcements to advise they're not going to announce something that people want so they don't get disappointed too much by the announcement.

Updates on games shown at the PS5 show? I hope we see

Stray
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
Little Devil Inside

Maybe another showing of Bugsnax for good measure. That’ll be a great SoP if these get shown.
