OPM is available to order, with £2 off the RRP (it's £7.99 on the high street): https://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/ ... issue-177/

Deliveries can take up to 3 weeks though in my experience, so don't expect it any time soon (unless you order a game with it like Wolfenstein II or Resident Evil, in which case it tends to be much faster).

Just bought that issue, feels like a proper magazine!

Read the review of TLOU2 and despite also rating it highly, I found myself disagreeing with so much of it. Especially their criticism of the structure, which I think is pretty integral to making the game as good as it is!

In an interview with tech website CNET, Jim Ryan has given an update as to the progress of Backwards Compatibility on PlayStation 5:

“We said that the PS5 has been designed to play PS4 games. We’re going through the process with the publishers and developers testing that rather exhaustive library of over 4,000 games. We’re happy with the progress that’s been made.”

https://www.cnet.com/news/sonys-ps5-des ... -ceo-says/

I presume Sony will have a section on their website with a list of games that will work at launch. I’m sure there’s a few developers or publishers that started off the PS4 era that no longer exist so it’ll be solely reliant on Sony to get them working.

Will they get it all running as near flawlessly as they did PS1 on PS3?

Ugh if they're making another Uncharted. Unless it's *very different*... like... Uncharted IN SPAAACE.

I may get around to playing it after TLoU2. (I bought it cheap before they upgraded it to a meatier game, but I gave up after a short while into it. Just wasn't feeling it at the time.)

Lost Legacy was actually my favourite Uncharted, loved playing as Chloe and it gave more depth to Nadine.

I still haven't played it, I really should get round to it. I think there was too much Switch happening at the time for me to get it on release

Hi everyone! As some of you may have noticed, I have long been a big fan of indie games, and ever since I was appointed as Head of Indies Initiative for PlayStation in November the last year, I have been working closely with all departments at Sony Interactive Entertainment to elevate our efforts to help make indie developers’ lives easier and their titles shine in this super competitive videogame market.

I’m pleased to formally announce the PlayStation Indies initiative. With PlayStation Indies, we hope to spotlight and support the best of the best indie games being published on PlayStation and the entire indie community as a whole. Our goal is to make PlayStation the best place to develop, find, and play great indie games.

The indie community is increasingly important for the future of the video game industry, as AAA game development has grown so financially demanding that big companies are finding it harder to take risks to invest in new concepts that may or may not work. We trust indie developers with strong vision will continue to bring ideas that have never been tried before, creating whole new genres of games and advancing the art and meaning of video games. PlayStation has always embraced games with completely new concepts, like PaRappa the Rapper, Katamari Damacy, LittleBigPlanet, and Journey, and we look forward to seeing what surprising new ideas will come next!

I was so excited to see the strong reactions to the amazing indie titles featured in the PS5 Future of Gaming event a few weeks ago. Do they not look charming and interesting? I, for one, could not get the Bugsnax song out of my head for a few days since the show went live.

While details are still forthcoming, we are also happy to confirm a new indie title will join the PlayStation Now service every month, starting with Hello Neighbor in July. Please look out for our monthly PS Now posts for more information!

Today, alongside news of the PlayStation Indies initiative, we’re happy to debut nine imaginative and exciting titles coming to both PS4 and PS5. Stay tuned throughout the morning for these reveals, which we’ll gather up here once they’ve all concluded. Can’t wait to hear what you think!

It looks much more interesting than Uncharted 4 purely because it doesn't have a dickhead main character. It's definitely on my to play list for PS5

I’m not surprised that a new team is working on Uncharted. Naughty Dog says they’re pretty done with the franchise, and want to move on to other projects, so it’s possible Sony agreed so they can develop a brand new IP (hopefully a space themed one like hinted in TLOU.) And Sony is setting up a new team so they can carry on the Uncharted franchise as it’s a big seller of a series.

Anyway I hope that Bend Studios is working on a Days Gone sequel. The scope of the PS5 could mean... larger frequent hordes.

I wouldn’t say no to a new Uncharted with Chloe, but not with Nate, I’d like to think his story was done in 4.

ND were actually rumored to be working on a Sci-fi game since before TLOU came out. I remember around the time of UC3's release there were rumours they were working on a survival horror game. That turned out true so wouldn't surprise me. Savage Starlight the game? Imagine a space survival horror, spiritual successor to Dead Space, with ND production values and attention to detail....

I'm surprised that there haven't been a proper remake of the original, but I can't see Naughty Dog doing it or a proper sequel. Another team could take it up.

Never played Syphon Filter.

A PS5 Days Gone 2 could be pretty special.
Extra large hordes roaming about at random and more complex campsites full of survivors with better AI could be great.
The graphics don't need all that much upgrading and make it a solid 60fps and the extra sound capabilities should be a great addition.

They could maybe make the story a bit shorter though with less grinding as I know some people felt it dragged a bit.

Take with an heroic dose of salt: PS5 release date and pre-order to be announced on 13th July. (According to a seemingly random Twitterer who got the re-arranged PS5 event date correct before it was announced *shrug* They're also saying that no PS5 event is currently planned for the 13th.)

Absolutely, I was really surprised how much I enjoyed DG, it was one of my favourite games from last year.
