We have always said that we believe in generations. We believe that when you go to all the trouble of creating a next-gen console, that it should include features and benefits that the previous generation does not include. And that, in our view, people should make games that can make the most of those features.
We do believe in generations, and whether it's the DualSense controller, whether it's the 3D audio, whether it's the multiple ways that the SSD can be used... we are thinking that it is time to give the PlayStation community something new, something different, that can really only be enjoyed on PS5.
By no means the first time Sony’s own words have come back to bite them on the arse (see also BC) but what changed this time to cause such a U-turn...if in fact they weren’t just lying at the time and knew these games were also coming to PS4.
I’m sure nobody is buying a PS5 just to play Destruction All Stars.

That can be taken to mean updates of what's already been shown, or fresh reveals. (There's plenty of long rumoured stuff that we haven't seen anything of yet.)
"Updates" would suggest known quantities, wouldn't it? If they show gameplay from DS, SSMM, HFW and reveal the price and release date, I'd be really happy.
FF16 right off the bat But yeah, wording could have been a lot more clearer. My point was merely that, broadly speaking, the way 'updates' was used in that sentence meant it could be interpreted in multiple ways. They also didn't expressly state no new games, just like they didn't say anything about price, pre-orders or release.

PlayStation Plus is the equivalent of Xbox Live subscription for online play. The PS Collection means PS5 owners will have access to this library of games.
